We aim to offer a host of different practical skills training (Technical and Vocational Training and entrepreneurial skills, business development services, financial and other services) including but not limited to Basic Business skills training, Customer care, marketing, business planning, basic computer skills, soft skills training (motivation, goal setting, communication etc...) The LESELI will
also create a platform for both start-ups and entrepreneurs who are already running their companies to come together to network and share their experiences and learn from one another. This will help start-up businesses, inventors, innovators and entrepreneurs make their ideas and concepts more commercially successful for the benefit of society. The word "LESELI" means "light" in Sotho and that is what Leseli is all about, giving light to those in darkness and without hope. Therefore, our commitment is to be "the knowledge hub" for our youth and vulnerable groups. We will train our youth to be the new generation of "job creators not job-seekers". We believe that every young person was born with a certain degree potential for contributing in the world today. However, many of these young people have not tapped into their potentials and abilities due to lack of access to necessary resources. Aims and Objectives
The Initiative was formed for the following objectives:
• To create a new generation of social entrepreneurs and leaders who are not only aiming to make profits for themselves but are passionate about finding and solving social problems through sustainable business ventures.
• To establish an enabling entrepreneurial ecosystems that will foster the spirit of social entrepreneurship and provide networks and funding to social entrepreneurs who have potential to bring social change.
• To eradicate poverty among the youth by solving youth unemployment challenges and bridge the gaps of economic inequalities in Lesotho through social entrepreneurship.
• To be a practical ‘one-stop' resource for business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
• To provide Leadership training and Coaching, Business Coaching, Entrepreneurship and Leadership Seminars, Leadership Workshops, Training, Leadership Conferences and Leadership Development Resources.
• To organize seminars, networking dinners, workshops and conferences for providing a forum for interaction and exchange of views by various agencies and entrepreneurs.
• To conduct training, research and consultancy activities for entrepreneurs providing a range of courses, events and materials that give step-by-step guidance for entrepreneurs on their business journey focusing on entrepreneurship and leadership development.
• To identify training needs and offer training programmes to Government and non-Government organizations (such as cooperatives and youth-focused NGOs).
• To prepare and publish literature related to entrepreneurship, leadership and industrial development.
• To operate and/or run TV programmes dedicated to youth entrepreneurship & enterprise development, youth employment and empowerment, social entrepreneurship promotion, youth leadership development. HOW LESELI WORKS
-LESELI approach will be to work in collaboration with other stakeholders such as; Schools, Churches, youth networks, companies and any other entities interested in youth-focused initiatives.
-LESELI will empower youth and vulnerable groups by arranging workshops, seminars, boot-camps, international leadership summits, startup competitions, social entrepreneurship summits
-LESELI will also conduct research on social entrepreneurship, NGO cooperatives and cooperatives movement in Lesotho.
