Official Statement by Youth Network for Positive Change in commemoration of World Tuberculosis Day - March 24th, 2026

Liberia is currently categorized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as one of the 30 countries with the highest TB burden globally. Latest data shows an estimated incidence of TB remains around 308 cases per 100,000 people and roughly 53 out of every 100,000 people in Liberia are estimated to be living with both TB and HIV.

Today as we commemorate World TB Day, we remember those who have died from TB, we encourage those who are on treatment for TB to adhere to their treatment and we celebrate those who have survived TB.

We also celebrate the successes we have had collectively in this fight to end TB. Let’s remain resilient, let’s keep fighting to end TB. Indeed, together we will win! – Amb Leo E Tiah, Executive Director, YOUNETPO.

Regular team meetings are a foundational tool for maintaining a connected, focused, and productive workforce. At YOUNETPO, our regular staff meetings serves as a critical platform for aligning or shared goals, foster collaboration, and preventing the "us versus them" mindset that can arise when communication is rare.

Today’s meeting was full of energy, innovation and positive spirit.

The Legislative Committee on Population and Development has been launched. This is a great opportunity to get the long standing Revised Public Health Bill, the Women and Children Protection Act passed!

This committee can be a cornerstone for tangible reforms in health, education and climate change. You are not in all this alone, together we can win!

Thanks to UNFPA Liberia for always supporting technically and financially.

A message from our Executive Director; Amb Leo E Tiah; YOUNETPO @12 years.

Twelve years ago, Youth Network for Positive Change began with a simple dream; empower youth to contribute meaningfully through advocacy for good health and wellbeing, environment, promote education, capacity and skill development. Today, as we reflect, I see that we have collectively made many strides to transform this dream into a reality, thanks to your passion and dedication.

Twelve years is a 'silk' anniversary—representing endurance and elegance. It means we have matured, but we are still flexible enough to innovate. Thank you to our dedicated staff and volunteers for your hard work, and to our partners for your trust. Let’s make the next twelve even better!"

Congratulations!
