As part of championing Chairman Edison Nyan Gbor's agenda, some youth and community dwellers headed by Blockleader James Banda, on first Saturday, November 2, 2024, carried out a massive cleaning-up campaign in Christopolis Island(Block "G") of Norvlin Town Community. Although many residents failed to partake in the cleaning up exercise, these zealous young men were still determined to open up the major alley connecting Block "E" passing through Christopolis Island and then to Norvlin Town "block A" for the very first time.
The campaign aimed at giving the block a facelift is happening at a time when residents are recovering from flooding that usually affects the community during major parts of the raining season.
Christopolis Island is a developing but flood-prone block, located in the southeastern part of Norvlin Town Community, Paynesville City, and confronted with numerous challenges. The community lacks healthcare facilities, schools, electricity, accessible roads and bridges thereby limiting socioeconomic activities in the area, and resulting in community dwellers using primitive means to clean their community.
Block-leader Banda is calling on residents to prioritize their environment, and promised coordination, collaboration and cooperation with community dwellers to develop the Island.
