Scaling Impact: The Full Rollout of the Immunization Uptake Project.

Yesterday marked a significant milestone for YOCEL as we successfully concluded our final inception meeting in Montserrado County. This completes our initial five-county implementation strategy, alongside Gbarpolu, Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, and Margibi.
In partnership with the Ministry of Health Liberia and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, we have now successfully aligned stakeholders across all target regions. Our focus now shifts from inception to action:
• Sustaining community-led advocacy.
• Monitoring immunization uptake trends.
• Strengthening the shared responsibility between health and non-health actors.

The work to ensure every child receives life-saving vaccines is just beginning, but with all five counties now activated, the momentum is unstoppable.

4 Counties Down. 1 To Go.

Today, we successfully concluded our inception meeting in Margibi County! This marks the fourth stop in our journey to “Strengthening Immunization Uptake through Stakeholder Engagement, Advocacy, and Community-Driven Strategies.”, following impactful launches in Gbarpolu, Bomi, and Grand Cape Mount.

This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Liberia and with support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

Every county has shown us the same thing: when we bring together health workers, community leaders, CSOs and parents, we create a shield of protection for our children.
The energy is high, the mission is clear, and the foundation is set. Now, all eyes are on the final launch.

Montserrado, we see you on Monday! đź“…

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our third inception meeting in Grand Cape Mount County, marking another important step in the implementation of the project, “Strengthening Immunization Uptake through Stakeholder Engagement, Advocacy, and Community-Driven Strategies.”

This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Liberia, with support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

The project will be carried out across five counties—Montserrado, Margibi, Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, and Gbarpolu—with the goal of increasing immunization uptake through strong multi-sector collaboration, inclusive engagement, and community-driven solutions.

At the heart of this initiative is a commitment to engaging both health and non-health actors, promoting shared responsibility for child health, and encouraging the active involvement of both mothers and fathers in their children’s vaccination.

We are also dedicated to working closely with communities to build trust, strengthen local ownership, and ensure that every child has access to life-saving vaccines.

Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward healthier communities and a stronger immunization system in Liberia.

The stone is rolled away. The grave is empty. Hope is alive.

He is risen—just as He said. ✝️
Let this be your reminder that no darkness lasts forever, and every promise in Jesus Christ still stands.

Last Friday, YOCEL, through the Elevate Liberia Project, convened a dynamic First-quarter Learning Workshop at A’La Lagune Hotel, bringing together key stakeholders in Liberia’s TVET and education ecosystem.

The session welcomed teacher trainers, representatives from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, including senior leadership from the TVET Directorate. We were also honored by the presence of Hon. George K. Werner, Mastercard Foundation Country Lead for Liberia and Sierra Leone, whose participation reinforced the importance of strengthening skills development pathways for young people.

The workshop created a collaborative space for reflection, knowledge exchange, and alignment on improving the delivery of entrepreneurship and technical education across training institutions.

Through initiatives like Elevate Liberia, YOCEL and its partners continue to drive efforts toward a more inclusive, practical, and future-ready TVET system.
