Our Story

Why is MCN Organized?

Following Liberia’s fourteen (14) years of civil unrest that destroyed and affected all sectors of the country’s fabric, many of its survivals, especially the youthful population were left with a serious trauma and hopelessness. Many thought it would have been easy to handle but unfortunately got worst when the illegal entry of narcotic into the country started to overwhelm the situation. A majority of the young people now believe that taking in some of these substances is the easiest ways of handling their situation but on the contrary has led them to the worst part of life.

With that persisting, in 2014, the Ebola epidemic entered Liberia from Guinea through Lofa County claiming thousands of lives thus leaving more traumas to youth who lost their parents and relatives. Although some of these disadvantage youth and children are being provided some form of shelters, they are indicators that they still actually lack some basics social needs. Most of them are without education, hope and future. To assist other relevant organizations that are geared towards transforming the lives of these people to restoring their future has given rise to “Meet Critical Needs”.
