YES helps youths nationwide plan, propose and complete projects in areas like environmental conservation, sustainable development, human rights, education, agriculture and health. This organization believes that people have solutions to the critical problems they are being faced with; therefore, it is important to enable them seek for possible and positive remedy. The aftermath of Liberia’s 14 yea
rs of crisis did not only destroy basic infrastructure but affected all sectors of the society, as a result many Liberians were either participants or victims. For this reason some people chose to sit reluctantly without helping and other perpetually criticize initiative. Hence, YES is an invention and corridor for creating a new generation of tolerant and critical thinkers that would assist in rebuilding the broken fabrics of our war-torn nation. Goals:
1. To mobilize and motivate people to become problem solvers;
2. To cultivate volunteerism and social responsibility among people thereby nurturing good citizenship and fostering positive self-esteem;
3. To develop opportunity and enable people to achieve their full measure of happiness and potential. WE ARE YOUTH EXPLORING SOLUTIONS (YES)
The youth focused empowerment organization. Our staff and volunteers are experts in youth-led development and leadership. We are driven forward by innovative young people and young professionals. We work across 9 counties in Liberia. Youth Exploring Solutions works part-time in four counties in Liberia namely: Montserrado, Gbarpolu, Lofa and Grand Bassa counties. Over 100 young men and women lead our work. Our programs and activities are led by creative young people and young professionals from diverse background volunteering their services to benefit the community, nation and the world at large. We’ve got 14 years of experience. We have worked tireless without financial support from anywhere and yet we are struggled to survive using our limited resources to implement various programs and projects. We’re leading national development efforts. We are nurturing leadership capacity of young people while empowering them to acquire quality education. We have engaged young people to effectively and meaningfully engage into development through volunteerism and self help initiatives. Our work with the US Embassy near Monrovia, Global Youth Anti-Corruption Network, IDEA and National Youth Movement for Transparent Elections and among others has reinforced our quest for sustainable development and good governance.
