Join Us in Making a Difference This World Menstrual Hygiene Day!
Did you know that many girls miss school every month simply because they’re on their period? Not because they want to, but because they lack access to sanitary products or fear shame and mockery. At Hope Care Foundation, we say enough is enough.
This year, as part of our commitment to SDG 5 - Gender Equality, and SDG 3 - Good Health and Wellbeing, we’re hosting a powerful event that’s more than just about periods - it’s about education, dignity, consent, and change.
We’re honored to partner with the Paynesville City Corporation, the Paynesville Students' Union - PAYSU, and our youth-driven collaborators at Formulating Youth in Career Using Skills and Solidarity (FOYCUSS), because building a healthier, more equitable future requires all of us.
What’s Happening?
🌸 Distribution of menstrual care kits to underprivileged girls
📚 Menstrual hygiene and s*x education sessions
🧠 Teaching boys and young men about consent, respect, and bodily autonomy
⚖️ Open discussions on statutory r**e, legal penalties, and the reality that no excuse justifies it
Why Should You Show Up?
✅ Because empowering just one girl means empowering her family, her school, her community, and society at large.
✅ Because boys need to understand that a girl’s body belongs to her alone.
✅ Because together, we can end period shame, reduce teenage pregnancy, and create a safer, more informed Liberia.
Let’s show up. Let’s speak up. Let’s act.
📅 Date: June 4th, 2025
📍 Venue: Paynesville City Hall
🕒 Time: 10am
Let’s make sure no girl is left behind.
Let’s raise a generation that understands, respects, and empowers.
Let’s make this World Menstrual Hygiene Day count.
From all of us at Hope Care Foundation, we wish you a Happy World Menstrual Hygiene Day! 💜🌍🩸
