NEPI-Liberia Honored for Outstanding Contributions to Empowerment & Development across the Country.

Today, the Network for Empowerment & Progressive Initiative (NEPI-Liberia) was honored with a Certificate of Recognition & Honor by the African Media Network of Liberia and the Association of Like-Minded Women Network of Liberia.
This prestigious award acknowledges NEPI’s unwavering commitment to empowerment, employment, and development initiatives that have positively impacted the lives of thousands of at-risk youths across the Country.
The certificate was formally presented by Mrs. Sarah Kamara, Executive Director of the Association of Like-Minded Women Network of Liberia, and Mr. Prince S. Grandoe, Executive Director of the African Media Network of Liberia.
The joint initiative by both organizations aims to recognize institutions making significant strides in national transformation and community development.
The award was received on behalf of NEPI’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Klubosumo Johnson Borh, by the institution’s Chief Operating Officer, Earl K. Mulbah, at NEPI’s central office 26th street in Sinkor.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of NEPI, Mr. Mulbah described the honor as a major boost for the organization and its partners. He emphasized that the recognition serves as motivation for NEPI to continue its mission of fostering empowerment, sustainable growth, and employment opportunities across Liberia.
“This certificate is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and passion that drive NEPI’s vision. We are thrilled that our work is making an impact and is being recognized at such a prestigious level,” Mr. Mulbah stated.
Meanwhile, the Board of Directors of the African Media Network, in collaboration with the Association of Like-Minded Women Network of Liberia, expressed their satisfaction in awarding NEPI.
They praised the organization for its selfless and invaluable service in empowering communities and fostering economic opportunities for many Liberians.
The directors further highlighted NEPI’s outstanding contributions towards national transformation, stating that the organization’s efforts have been overwhelmingly impactful.
As a result, NEPI-Liberia has been officially recognized as the Outstanding Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) of the Year 2024/2025.
In so doing, NEPI Program manager, Mr. Thompson Borh said, NEPI remains committed to advancing its programs, strengthening community empowerment, and driving meaningful change in Liberia.
At the same time, NEPI partnership & Policy manager, Philipmon Gonotee, added that, the recognition serves as both an encouragement and a challenge to continue making a lasting difference in the lives of the people it serves.

On Friday, February 28, 2025, NEPI-Liberia and partners, an inspiring and collaborative event took place at the residential facility in Police Academy, a remarkable initiative driven by the Ministry of Youth & Sports, the Ministry of Health, The Carter Center, Montserrado County Health Team, and the NEPI team. This visit marked a significant moment for all the partners involved, coming together to explore the facility and solidify their shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of the community and Liberia at large.
The occasion was not just about touring a facility, but about strengthening relationships, promoting mutual understanding, and laying the groundwork for future endeavors around the country.
The visit was an excellent opportunity for the Ministry of Youth & Sports to engage with their NEPI counterparts and to see first-hand the progress being made in NEPI Cycly-3. The youth and sports sector has long been a key player in driving change and encouraging the younger generation to take charge of their career paths and well-being. By visiting the facility, the Ministry was able to connect with the health professionals and partners working tirelessly to ensure that the youth have access to essential services, creating a stronger and healthier generation for the future.
The Ministry of Health was a central participant in this visit, showing their commitment to collaborating with key stakeholders in delivering effective health services as part of their mission to improve public health, the Ministry’s leadership took this opportunity to engage with the NEPI team and discuss further strategies for advancing healthcare accessibility, particularly in marginalized communities. The visit offered a clear view of how interconnected efforts across various sectors can lead to lasting positive change, and how the health and sports ministries must work hand in hand to foster a healthier nation.
The Carter Center, known for its dedication to public health, was also present, underscoring its continued support for healthcare initiatives in Liberia. Their partnership with the NEPI team and other government bodies has been vital in pushing the boundaries of public health intervention in the country. The visit allowed the Carter Center representatives to see the direct impact that NEPI is making in the lives of hard core youths. Their presence exemplified the long-term vision they share with other partners in improving the lives of citizens.
Alongside the Ministry of Youth & Sports and the Ministry of Health, the Montserrado County Health Team’s participation was vital in understanding the challenges and opportunities at the community level. Their insights into the needs of the local population provided valuable input into the discussions and planning for future health initiatives. As the health team operates directly within the communities, their firsthand experience gave depth to the ongoing collaboration efforts, helping all partners focus on practical solutions that will bring tangible benefits to the people of Montserrado County and Liberia at large.
The NEPI team, who were the hosts of the event, played a key role in ensuring the smooth ex*****on of the visit. Their leadership and coordination demonstrated their deep commitment to the goals of their mission. NEPI’s Chief Operating Officer used this occasion to warmly welcome all the partners and emphasize the importance of continued collaboration. With a spirit of optimism and dedication, the COO urged the partners to maintain their strong bond of partnership, underscoring that the success of future endeavors hinges on trust, shared goals, and a united approach to addressing the challenges facing Liberia's healthcare system.
During the visit, NEPI’s Partnership and Policy Manager also took the opportunity to express gratitude to the NEPI team for their consistent and tireless efforts. Their recognition highlighted the invaluable role NEPI plays in supporting the health sector and its partners. The policy manager's words of thanks were a heartfelt acknowledgment of NEPI's unwavering commitment to the cause, underscoring how the team’s efforts have been instrumental in building the trust and fostering collaborative actions that have shaped the country in a positive direction.
As the visit concluded, the partners left with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to their shared mission. The event not only showcased the importance of collaboration but also highlighted the positive outcomes that can result from working together toward a common goal. The Network for Empowerment & Progressive Initiative (NEPI) in collaboration with Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) and GiveDirectly seeks to reduce violence and criminal behavior among high-risk young men in Monrovia through a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and targeted support. With the support of FID’s funding, this initiative aims to position a project which will engage participants in the most vulnerable neighborhoods, addressing issues such as impulsivity, anger management and social identity to foster long-term behavioral change and improve community safety.
