Mwasnoh Tuan Foundation partners with Education Development Center to provide Skills training to enhance Youth livelihood.
With funding from USAID, Education Development Center (EDC) is implementing a five-year youth project (known as USAID-Youth Advance), which is aimed at increasing the economic self-reliance and resilience of 21,000 youths between the ages 15-35 years. Pathways 1 (P1) of the project is targeting 13,000 youths respectively with marginal literacy and numeracy skills and support them to acquire foundational skills including basic literacy and numeracy, EDC’s Work Ready Now! (WRN) which combines work readiness and soft skills, work-based learning, and Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) entrepreneurship training adapted for low-literacy youth; participation in VSLA groups to generate savings and build financial literacy skills as well as complementary skills training for youths after completion of in class training.
Over the past few months, MTF has been partnering with EDC on the USAID Youth Advance project under the non-grant approach to enrolled and trained 25 youths of which 21 completed 4 months of foundational literacy and numeracy as well as Work Ready Now skills training. These youths are currently learning pastry as part of the transitional support activities. MTF extends its appreciation to USAID for the financial support and to EDC for the partnership.

“If we’re going to succeed in collectively creating a world where periods are a normal fact of life by 2030, commitment to both action and funding must remain high on the menstrual health and hygiene agenda.”
Celebrating Menstrual hygiene Day on May 28, Our Team visited the ELWA Hospital on the 26th of May to have a discussion with the women who were receiving treatment at the hospital. Many thanks to the guest speaker, A fifth year medical student at the A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine, Miss Bellor Karmbor.
After Educating them on proper Hygiene most especially during their menstrual cycle, The Foundation made a donation of cartoons of Pads to the Hospital as we ensured that sufficient number of persons benefitted from this.
Many thanks to the management of ELWA Hospital for welcoming us and making the ex*****on of our project successful.
