From Liberia to global platforms, Elizabeth journey is a powerful reflection of purpose and unwavering determination.
Her story began in Liberia, where she distinguished herself academically at St. Michael Catholic Elementary School and later at St. Teresa’s Convent. A recipient of the prestigious JJ Roberts Scholarship, Liz quickly emerged as a young leader, serving as Debate Captain, Head of the Press Club, and Vice President.
Her educational journey later took her to the United States, where she graduated from high school with highest honors. Yet despite the opportunities abroad, her heart remained connected to home. In 2014, she returned to Liberia and enrolled at Stella Maris Polytechnic University, where she maintained a perfect GPA and earned national recognition for academic excellence. Her outstanding performance opened doors internationally, leading her to Uganda, where she graduated as valedictorian (dux) in Environmental Science in 2018.
Liz’s impact has never been limited to the classroom. She build opportunities where none existed, balancing work, teaching, mentoring, and service all at once. From conservation initiatives in Nigeria to wildlife protection efforts in Sapo National Park, from mentoring students in Liberia to contributing to global research spaces, she consistently demonstrated a commitment to growth, service, and excellence.
Her pursuit of knowledge later led her to the University of Milan, where she graduated summa cm laude, earning top honors alongside a prestigious scholarship. Her journey continued to New York, where she contributed to sustainable development efforts through her work with the United Nations. She also worked with Conservation International.
In April of this year, she also became a certified Project Management Professional. Currently, she is pursuing a fully funded PhD at the Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment.
Her message is simple, yet powerful: “Keep going, even when it’s hard, especially when it’s hard”.
Elizabeth story is more than a list of achievements; it’s a reminder to every young girl that greatness is possible, no matter where you begin or no matter your age.
