We joined other members of United Network of Young Peacebuilders at the Global Strategic Dialogue on Youth Peace and Security, July 28-30, 2026 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Hosted under the theme "From Normative Progress to Implementation Impact", the Dialogue brings together young peacebuilders, and YPS practitioners to reflect on the first decade of implementation of the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda and to identify priorities and practical actions for the years ahead. The event provides an opportunity to exchange experiences, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to shaping future policy and
implementation pathways at global, regional, and national levels.

We are looking for 10 young trainers and facilitators from UNOY member organisations to join a new Community of Trainers for 2.5 years, starting in March 2026. 🌍

By joining the Community of Trainers, you will:

🎓 Follow a Training of Trainers to strengthen your facilitation skills and deepen your understanding of YPS and peace education
🤝 Initiate & facilitate training activities for UNOY in your local context
🌱 Join a community of UNOY trainers and actively help shape UNOY
👉 Receive a UNOY certification at the end of your mandate

On December 10, 2025, one of our volunteers Abdullah O Bility was awarded the 10x10 YPS Stories Initiative Award in Nairobi, Kenya at the Stock-taking Conference on Youth Peace and Security. The award is in recognition of his dedication and commitment to advancing YPS in Africa.

In his remark Abdullah said: To me the YPS agenda means everything. I was born as a refugee during the Liberian civil war and grew up in rural Liberia, surviving abduction and diseases as a child. YPS agenda gives young people like me the space to voice out our issues and be a part of peace processes and decision-making.

He dedicated the award to his country Liberia and the young people of Liberia, saying this award is for my country Liberia. It's for the young people of Liberia that are tirelessly volunteering their time and investing their resources in advancing YPS in Liberia.

As a young peacebuilder and YPS practitioner, Abdullah is inspired by his sad childhood realities, being born as a refugee and growing up in war-torn Liberia.
