Our Executive Director and Founder, Abdurahman I.A. Fofana, honored invitations from two outstanding youth and community development institutions (YOCEM) Vocational Training Institute and Youth Alliance for Progress International at their separate graduation ceremony and official launch held on May 3, 2026 in Peace Island Community and Old Road Community.
These institutions are playing a vital role in advancing education through Technical and Vocational Training and youth-focused accelerator programs, equipping young Liberians with practical skills for sustainable livelihoods.
In his remarks, Fofana encouraged young people and parents across Liberia to take full advantage of Technical Vocational Education and Entrepreneurship opportunities.
He emphasized that these pathways are critical to reducing poverty, tackling youth unemployment, and driving national economic growth.
He further called on Liberian youth to foster unity, collaboration, and mutual support, discouraging envy and division. He highlighted that many young people continue to face limited access to opportunities, often due to systemic barriers.
Addressing common misconceptions, Fofana challenged the narrative that young people are unqualified or lazy. He stressed that Liberia is home to many capable, talented, and driven youth who are ready to lead and innovate referencing the minister of youth and sports.
As a leading advocate for youth development, Fofana continues to champion the inclusion of Technical Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship in Liberiaโs national curriculum.
Fofana also emphasizes the Importance of unity among Liberians and call for Liberians to unite again issues affecting Liberia and put aside religion, tribe and political party.
He also reiterated the need for the establishment of recreational centers across the country to help reduce substance abuse among young people.
In closing, he encouraged the graduates especially young women and youth across the nation to serve as agents of positive change in their communities.
He further called for the creation of a National Entrepreneurship Fund to support young Liberian entrepreneurs and unlock their full potential.
