Breaking barriers and keeping girls in school! 🩸✨

On June 5, 2026, Our Children Future team was live at John Varfley school in Montserrado for a powerful celebration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day! We combined education with real-world solutions to support the bright futures of young girls in our community.
Here is a look at what made the day so impactful:
📚 Menstrual Hygiene Management Workshop: Knowledge is power! Our Executive Director and Founder, Josephine K. Barclay (Aunty Jojo), led an open, educational session breaking down the phases of the menstrual cycle, teaching the youth how to understand and manage their health with confidence and dignity.
🎒 "Pad for Her" Kit Distribution: We didn't just stop at education. We distributed our sustainable, reusable menstrual kits. Each kit provides a long-term solution, enabling a girl to stay in school comfortably and confidently for 1–3 years!
🤝 Community Power: It takes a village to end period poverty. We are incredibly grateful to the leaders, families, and youth of John Varfley who stepped up to break the silence and normalize menstrual health.
🌟🌟 Special Acknowledgment: This outreach wouldn't have been possible without the amazing generosity and backing of the Royal Hotel and their CEO, Helen. Thank you for standing with OCF and investing in the health and dignity of Liberia's youth! 🤝✨
No girl should ever have to miss an education because of a natural cycle. Thank you to everyone who supported this vital mission!

Empowerment looks like this.
💫 Today, on the second workshop regarding Menstrual Hygiene Day, OCF is incredibly proud to showcase the impact of our Pads for Her kits!
When we talk about breaking barriers in Liberia, we mean creating real, sustainable solutions.
Our kits provide eco-friendly, reusable pads that offer safe and dignified menstrual care. Even more importantly, we are putting the power directly into the hands of our youth by teaching them how to design and sew their own pads. ✂️📍
This is about so much more than just hygiene. It’s about skill-building, self-reliance, and ending the stigma with bold, positive action.
Together, we can build a world where periods never hold anyone back.

Periods are natural. So is the need for hygiene! 🩸✨ Happy Menstrual Hygiene Day from Our Children Future (OCF)!
We believe that no girl in Liberia should miss out on her future because of her period. That’s exactly why our E.D Josephine created Pad for Her initiative! 🌍💚
These aren’t just any kits—they are packed with sustainable, eco-friendly, reusable pads designed to protect our girls and our environment. But we don't stop at just handing out supplies. We are on the ground actively teaching our youth how to sew their own reusable pads! 🪡🧵 By equipping them with these skills, we are building independence, confidence, and long-term menstrual equity.
Let’s break the silence and ensure every girl has access to safe, dignified care. Drop a ❤️ in the comments if you stand with us!
