Our Story
The visionary and philanthropist, Samuel A. Stryker II, is the son of Williette Stryker, and the founder of Williette Safehouse Organization. His continuous service throughout the years within Liberia gave him and his family the ability to assist a community that they held incredibly close to their hearts. Their passion grew in tandem with the needs of the disabled community. After years of actively providing assistance as well as spending time and energy researching a holistic development approach for the overall betterment of the disabled community, in February 2016, Williette Safehouse was born.
Williette Safehouse is called to serve one of the most marginalized groups in the world, a community that is not only disabled by their bodies but unfortunately by the world. This unique group of fantastic youth and children lack services and environments developed for them, compounded with the everyday obstacles that they face. The reality is that this beautiful community has fewer economic opportunities, lower educational achievements, lower access to health care services, and, therefore, experience greater unmet healthcare needs than their non-disabled counterparts. This subgroup has no particular color, shape, age, gender, or size. Williette Safehouse serves all of the 15 counties within the country of Liberia.
