Happy County Day

Created in 1985, Rivercess County is in the south-central portion of Liberia. It is one of 15 counties that compose the first level of administrative divisions and it has eight districts.

Cesstos City is the capital, with the area of the county measuring 5,594 square kilometers (2,160 sq. mi).

As of the 2022 Census, it has an approximated population of 90,819 inhabitants.

The Vice Chair for Operations & Mobilization of the River Cess Citizens Union wishes all citizens home and abroad a joyous moment celebrating our shared cultures and heritage.

RCU attends Induction Ceremony of River Cess County Local Leaders

Over the Weekend, the River Cess Citizens Union graced the occasion marking the official induction into offices; local leaders of River Cess County.

Representing the Union, the Vice Chairman for Operations & Mobilization Mr. Abel Oscar Zeegar shared messages of congratulations and exemplary leadership to the inducted officials.

Here is a quote of what he spoke on:

“
I bring you warm and exemplary greetings from the River Cess Citizens Union.

Let me firstly begin by saying thank you to the Office of the Superintendent of River Cess County for the invite to witness the Official Induction into Offices of the County’s Local Leadership.

Also it is good to note and congratulate all officials who have been inducted into their various offices today. Your preferment to serve your people should be tailored with good morals and exemplary leadership style.

The RCU wishes to admonish all of you to work in diligence and harmony to uplift your colleagues and subordinates. You did not come to service to fire those who were on the job. Rather, you must help them to grow in doing the jobs. In situations where you notice someone has difficulties, lead them to teach them. This can be done by conducting training workshops and retreats for adjustments.

As always, the RCU will hold leaders accountable for the management and equitable distribution of resources and opportunities meant for her citizens. Your urge for wholistic development should be visible, transparent and accountable.

Just as the Office of the Superintendent has open its doors for cordial relationships with the Citizens Union, so it is expected of all of you local leaders and the county Legislative Caucus.

Upon receiving an invitation from the Judicial Branch of Government of the Republic of Liberia, the River Cess Citizens Union graced the occasion marking the Official Dedication of the 14th Judicial Circuit Complex in Cestos City, River Cess County.

Chairman Alfred W. Nyanaso and Vice Chairman Abel Oscar Zeegar also took the opportunity to meet with scores of River Cess citizens and took to the DCN and RBS Radio Stations; the RCU’s visions to work along with the citizens to foster the growth and speedy development of the County.

Furthermore, the Union participated in the County Consultation - held at the Cestos City Hall; which highlights major development plans and initiatives for the ensuing four years.

This is the River Cess we envision for all.

Welcome to the Official page of the River Cess Citizens Union - RCU.

The RCU is a conglomeration of ctizens from River Cess County who reside in and outside of River Cess County, and of course the Diaspora.

On June 8, 2024, a newer administration was inducted into various offices for the direction and ex*****on of the Union through an inclusive and innovative leadership style headed by its National Chairman Alfred Nyanaso

This leadership is the Union’s first ever democratically elected official since its establishment.
