The Liberia Marathon is an inclusive, uplifting event, celebrating Liberia’s developing success story. As the country's only official road race and largest athletic event, it provides a unique opportunity for Liberia’s aspiring long-distance runners and for thousands of amateur runners alike. The event course is certified by World Athletics, the governing body for athletics, and uses electronic chip-timing. The race is organized by the Liberia Marathon Trust, a Liberian nonprofit since 2011.

Organizing a quality and safe running event in Liberia requires an average expense of 35 USD per participant. Yet, in line with our mission to deliver an accessible and inclusive race, we keep our registration fee for Liberians below 10 USD. That's why we need your support! Your contribution will make it possible for EVERYONE to join.

Since our first race in 2011, the The Ministry of Youth and Sports Liberia has been a key partner of the Liberia Marathon. On behalf of all the our participants, we want to give sincere thanks to the MOYS Team for making the race event possible.

💥 Welcome Road Safety Action International - RSAI to the Liberia Marathon!

✅ Road safety matters every day — and on race day, when thousands of runners, supporters, and volunteers share the streets, it becomes particularly visible.

➡️ Road Safety Action International works towards making the roads safer for everyone. Their Director is already a special Liberia Marathon legend ❤️— check out our last race report — and this year, the whole RSAI team will be hitting the tarmac with us.

➡️ Beyond race day, RSAI works to promote safer roads and better road-user behaviour in Liberia. If you have a question about road safety, responsible road use, stop by the RSAI office in Congo Town and find out more about what they do.
