One June morning, in a village called Marbong, Gola Konneh District, the western part of Liberia, West Africa, where we had gone to do some business investment. It was about 4am that morning, in 1998, Mummy tapped me on my shoulder. when I woke up, Like anyone who loves morning sleeps, I said let the day break as an excuse to get me back to sleep. I thought it was for prayer; but she said, "You sleep a lot, I didn't wake you up for prayer." "What is it then", I enquired in a sleepy voice. "I have a dream, and I wanted to explain it to you". She continued. As you would expect, my answer was obviously, "Let daybreak". And those of you who knew Mummy well, she would have her will if she wanted to, so that answer was for my very self. She went on to explain: " I have a dream this night, I saw a lot of women and children walking in different directions, and a voice said to me, " Go after those people, they need help and you can provide that help". She added, "So look at what I have already written". Then She handed a copybook to me with almost three pages of writing. You know now, I got to read it and say something favorable, or I would not go back to sleep. " That is great, we will pray about it in the morning devotion", I said. I had to refer the morning devotion so that she would not say let's pray about it now. Since then, Mummy had pursued this dream to improve women and children through many initiatives. She worked through churches, charities, different groups, and institutions focusing on women and children issues. Marayah M. Kiadii Memorial Foundation ( MKMF) seeks to continue this dream.
MKMF will be officially launched on the 2nd of November, 2019 after a series of memorial activities which will kick on the the 30th of October 2019. Stay Tune for Detail..
