HISTORY:
The Green Liberia Climate Change & Poverty Mitigators is an environmental and social organization., founded in 2014 by Joseph Hoffman, once a Liberian refugee and now a Swedish trianed silviculturist. Because of his passion and love for the environment, humanity and country, Joseph returned home in order to contribute to the rebuilding process of his mother land (Liberia), especially afte
r the 14 years of the civil war which took away more than 250,000 lives. Joseph being a professional silviculturist with over 14 years of working experiences, he founded the organization to plant indigenous and exotic tree species on acquired deforested/ degraded lands in partnership with rural communities. The organization is striving to take pressure off Liberia’s remaining rainforest, mitigate deforestation and climate change, create green jobs and provide environmental services, restore and develop rural livelihoods, and alleviate unemployment and poverty, while it is also providing rural children with teaching and learning materials, including a daily school meal. OBJECTIVES:
Our objectives are among other things include; to take pressure off Liberia's remaining rainforest, mitigate deforstation and climate change, integrate agriculture into forestry, bind the soil and enable diversification of productivity, create greeb jobs and provide environmental services, restore and develop rural livelihoods, enable rural climare resilient, and enhance rural green economic returns and growth. MISSION:
Our mission is to work together with the rural community people themselves who livelihoods and overall well-being have been effected by deforestation and climate change impacts, by getting them involved with all hands on desk, joining forces against deforestation and climate change, unemployment and poverty; for exposure to environmental, social and economic development. VISION:
The Green Liberia Climate Change & Poverty Mitigators (GLCCPM) envisages becoming the lead driver; transforming Liberia into an ever green country free from deforestation and land degradation, unemployment and poverty, whilst striving stop global warming in order to enable the planent become a better and safer place for present and future generations. CHARITY:
In Liberia, many rural parents cannot afford to send there children to school, and the few parents who can afford are unable to buy pencils, uniforms, books and desk for their children. The other sympathetic reality is children are sent to school on empty stomach. So, tthis is why we are providing rural children with teaching and learning materials, including a daily school meal
