Strengthening partnerships for sustainable peace in Liberia!

UNDP Liberia recently held a productive engagement with the leadership of the Liberia Peacebuilding Office to explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing peacebuilding efforts across the country.

The discussion highlighted potential areas of cooperation, including the expansion of school peace clubs in high schools and universities, support for peace education curriculum development, promotion of social cohesion and peaceful coexistence between Burkinabè migrants and host communities in southeastern Liberia, and dissemination of findings from the SCORE Wave 4 Report.

Both parties agreed to continue engaging on these priorities as they work together to strengthen peace, inclusion, and social cohesion in Liberia.

Shaping the Future of Liberia’s Trade in Services!

As we wrap up the final day of the AfCFTA Regulatory Audit Workshop in Monrovia today, participants shared critical feedback from our deep-dive sessions into key sectors like Financial Services, Tourism, Construction, and Health.

This workshop, supported by UNDP Liberia, the Ecowas - Cedeao, and the African Development Bank Group, is a vital step in helping harness the benefits of services liberalization under the AfCFTA.

By auditing our regulations, we are building a more competitive and transparent environment for Liberian businesses to thrive across the continent.

Thank you to all our partners and participants for your hard work!

young political leaders across Liberia are stepping up for democracy 🇱🇷

From 4–8 May 2026 in Gbarnga, B**g County, youth representatives from political parties nationwide came together for a powerful Sub-Regional Democracy School organized by the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD Liberia under the Liberia Electoral Support Project (LESP).

Over five days, participants strengthened their skills in:
✅ Democratic governance
✅ Peacebuilding & inclusive leadership
✅ Digital civic engagement
✅ Cross-party collaboration

It was more a movement than a training. A space where young leaders challenged the status quo, reflected on Liberia’s history, and committed to shaping a more inclusive future beyond election cycles.

📢 One key takeaway? A strong call for greater youth representation and the creation of a youth-led inter-party platform to promote dialogue, unity, and peaceful political participation.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote inclusive political participation and strengthen democratic governance in Liberia.

The Liberia Electoral Support Project is managed by UNDP Liberia in partnership with UN Women Liberia and Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy NIMD Liberia with support from the European Union in Liberia, Irish Aid, and Embassy of Sweden in Monrovia.
