🌍 WE MADE THE FRONT PAGE. AND WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED. 🌍

The Daily Observer — one of Liberia's most respected newspapers — has published a feature on TYSMUN 2026, and we could not be more humbled and proud.

"Liberia's TYSMUN Builds Next Generation of African Diplomats — Targets 30,000 Youth."

That headline is not just ink on a page. That is a declaration. That is a promise. And that is a mission we are fully committed to fulfilling.

From April 26 to 30, 2026, 78 young delegates and observers gathered at the American International School, Monrovia, from The Gambia, Burundi, Malawi, Lebanon, Turkey, Sierra Leone, Guyana, and Liberia — and together they did something extraordinary.

They negotiated. They debated. They drafted resolutions. They challenged world leaders. They represented nations. They spoke truth to power. And they did it all with the poise, intelligence, and fire of the diplomats they are already becoming.

This is what TYSMUN is. This is what COYASOR believes in. And this is only the beginning.

"We are on a mission to train 30,000 young diplomats across Africa and beyond by 2063." — Amos Fallah Samuka, TYSMUN 2026

To every delegate who showed up and showed out — this headline belongs to you. 🫵

To our speakers, partners, host institution, and everyone who believed in us — you are written into this story forever.

Africa is watching. The next generation is rising. And TYSMUN is leading the way. 🕊️💛

With deep appreciation and sincere gratitude, TYSMUN 2026 extends special recognition to Dr. Emmanuel K. Urey Yarkpawolo, Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency of Liberia, and the entire EPA Senior Management Team for their exceptional support and engagement during the summit.

We are particularly grateful for the insightful engagement with delegates during the TYSMUN 2026 study visit, where important climate governance and environmental policy concerns raised during committee simulations were further clarified and professionally addressed by EPA officials. The interaction provided delegates with practical institutional perspectives beyond the negotiation rooms and strengthened the educational value of the conference.

We also sincerely appreciate the EPA’s logistical support, particularly the provision of transportation during the TYSMUN 2026 study and cultural heritage tour across Monrovia.

A significant moment of the engagement was the formal presentation and acknowledgment of the TYSMUN 2026 UNFCCC Resolution adopted during the General Assembly Closing Plenary on the topic:
“Just Transition in Global Climate Action: Myth or Reality?”

Dr. Yarkpawolo commended the quality, structure, and substance of the resolution while emphasizing an important diplomatic reality: negotiations are often difficult, but consensus remains achievable through dialogue, compromise, and collective responsibility.

We are honored that the resolution was positively received and acknowledged as a useful reference document for climate negotiators and technical experts within the EPA where applicable.

This engagement reflects the growing importance of connecting youth diplomacy platforms with national institutions to strengthen policy awareness, climate governance, and future diplomatic leadership in Liberia and beyond.

Yesterday, at the Closing Plenary of TYSMUN 2026, we witnessed more than a simulation. We witnessed a practical demonstration of the future of African diplomacy in motion.

Across committees and negotiations, delegates engaged with seriousness, discipline, and strategic thinking. They debated, negotiated, built alliances, defended national interests, and influenced decisions with the clear understanding that policy decisions can shape or destabilize communities, nations, and international relations.

What stood out most was the growing awareness among young delegates that diplomacy is not simply about speeches. It is about responsibility, compromise, coalition-building, and the ability to pursue national interests while preserving peace and cooperation across borders.

This is why investing in youth diplomatic capacity matters.

Africa’s future stability, regional integration, climate negotiations, peacebuilding efforts, and multilateral engagement will depend heavily on a generation of young people prepared to think critically, negotiate responsibly, and lead beyond political and geographical divisions.

Platforms like TYSMUN are helping to build that foundation by exposing young people early to the culture of diplomacy, international engagement, consensus-building, and principled leadership.

The future of diplomacy on the continent will not be sustained by institutions alone. It will be sustained by prepared young people capable of carrying the responsibility of dialogue, peace, and cooperation into the next generation.
