Africa Day is a time to reflect on the role of international organizations and countries like the IMF, World Bank, China, US, EU, and Arab League in African development. However, we must remember that the power to unlock the continent's economic potential lies within the African people themselves.

SAVE THE DATE! Liberia, like many other African countries, faces many economic challenges despite its favorable geographic location and abundant natural wealth. The potential economic impact of these resources such as cocoa remains largely unrealized.
With funding from USAID, ACET through the LEPDA program is undertaking a study to provide key policy lessons for reforms in Liberia’s cocoa industry.

Join our first virtual policy dialogue, which will explore policy options for artisanal chocolate manufacturing in Liberia, links to regional and global markets, and required certifications.

Facebook/LinkedIn: In Liberia, local chocolate producers are unable to leverage global demand for chocolates to increase their sales. To compete in high-quality niche products, brands and products must be unique and distinguish themselves from other niche products. This calls for expertise in marketing and developing needed linkages to the artisanal chocolate value chains.

Our ongoing study explores policy options for artisanal chocolate manufacturing in Liberia, as well as links to regional and global markets and accompanying certifications.

CePAR appoints new Acting Executive Director.

Monrovia, June 15, 2022: CePAR announces the appointment of Mr. Molley Okomfo Kiazolu as Acting Executive Director. Molley is an experienced and highly respected public sector economist. He succeeds Mr. Jacob Jallah and assumes responsibilities on June 20, 2022.

Jacob Jallah is stepping down from his role as Executive Director but will remain a valuable part of CePAR. We thank Jacob for his enormous contributions to CePAR’s growth and his professional stewardship over the years.

Molley has a Master of Economic Policy degree from Australia National University (ANU) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) – emphasis on Public Financial Management- from the University of Liberia.
