From 14–18 April 2026, Liberia proudly hosted the West Africa Zonal Conference and Youth Forum, a landmark gathering that advanced Scouting across the sub‑region. 🏕️

The conversations and resolutions reached during the week strongly echoed the priorities of the Africa Scout Region’s triennial plan, ensuring the Movement grows stronger, safer, and more inclusive.

✨ Highlights from the forum:

Stronger commitments to youth leadership, with special emphasis on amplifying the voices of young women in decision‑making.

Reinforced dedication to Safe from Harm standards.

A renewed call for Scouts to actively contribute to peacebuilding efforts.

In the face of rising instability, Scouting continues to stand as a force for resilience and peace, nurturing communities that can withstand challenges and thrive together.

📍 Looking ahead: the next Zonal Conference and Youth Forum will convene in Côte d’Ivoire.

📢 Day 2 of the 12th West Africa Zonal Youth Forum is underway in Monrovia, Liberia, with delegates from 10 National Scout Organizations continuing their vibrant discussions.

As the forum progresses, young people are tackling key issues that affect Scouting in the region. They are shaping recommendations to be presented at the upcoming 16th West Africa Zonal Conference, scheduled for 16–17 April 2026.

Day 2 also marks an important moment as new youth leadership begins to emerge, setting the tone for the future of Scouting across West Africa.

In 1907, Robert Baden-Powell lit the spark of Scouting with his first camp. That spark has since grown into a worldwide flame—uniting more than 60 million Scouts across 176 countries, from Liberia to Ghana, Kenya, the United Kingdom, and beyond. 🌍🙌

For 119 years, Scouting has been a force for good: shaping leaders, strengthening communities, and inspiring young people to make a difference. 💪🌱

Today, we honor Baden-Powell’s vision and recommit ourselves to preparing youth for life—through service, unity, and resilience in Liberia and across the globe. 🥳🎉

Nairobi, Kenya - The Liberia Scout Association proudly commends Commissioner Samuel Cooper, Deputy National Program Commissioner, for his distinguished representation of Liberia at the 3rd Africa Scout Academy.

The Academy convened 29 participants from 24 African countries for three days of intensive training and knowledge exchange. Its sessions focused on strengthening leadership in innovative youth program development, resource mobilization, and assets management—equipping participants to advance Scouting in their respective nations.

Commissioner Cooper engaged actively in all sessions, contributing to the Academy’s collaborative learning environment. His participation reflects Liberia’s dedication to building the professional competencies of its leaders and ensuring that Scouting in Liberia remains aligned with continental and global standards.

This Academy was made possible through the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in partnership with World Scouting, under the Messengers of Peace Fund. The initiative highlights the importance of international cooperation in empowering young people and strengthening the Scouting movement across Africa.

The Liberia Scout Association recognizes this Academy as a milestone in advancing youth leadership and programme innovation. The knowledge and skills acquired by Commissioner Cooper will play a vital role in enhancing Scouting initiatives in Liberia, particularly in programme delivery, resource mobilisation, and sustainable growth.

As the Academy concludes, the LSA reaffirms its mission to nurture responsible citizens, servant leaders, and agents of peace through Scouting, and remains committed to applying the lessons learned to enrich the experiences of young people across Liberia.
