Clara Town is one of the most iconic and historically rich communities in Monrovia, Liberia. George Manneh Oppong Weah; former recent president from January 22, 2018 – January 22, 2024 who born on 1 October 1966 in Monrovia, the capital city of Liberia, and was raised in Clara Town.
Clara Town has decades of political instability, civil war, and economic hardship. Despite these challenges, it remains a powerful epicenter of Liberian culture, music, and community life. We came to Clara Town to help reclaim its legacy through innovation and youth empowerment—with Creative World Digital Art Space
The United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), using storytelling and digital education to reimagine a more inclusive and sustainable future. In a community where access to formal education and creative opportunity has long been limited, CWDAS project focuses on transforming everyday spaces into hubs for learning and expression. By equipping youth with skills in filmmaking, digital arts, and entrepreneurship, CWDAS directly supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Young people from Clara Town are documenting real-life stories of poverty, gender inequality, corruption, and community strength—turning lived experience into powerful advocacy (SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
Rooted in Clara Town’s legacy of grit and creativity, and inspired by Liberia’s broader journey toward recovery and growth, CWDAS is building a future where youth are not just surviving but leading. As it strengthens local and international partnerships (SDG 17), the organization demonstrates how history, community, and creativity can converge to accelerate sustainable development and create lasting impact in Liberia and beyond.
We hope to achieve this goal with you all by #2030. Lets make Liberia's creative sector strong together. 🇱🇷
