Easter Reflection at Liberia YMCA
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, the Liberia YMCA convened a meaningful Easter reflection session in our conference hall, bringing together our dedicated staff, volunteers, and interns for a time of fellowship, learning, and spiritual renewal.
The service began with a powerful praise and worship session led by Intern, Marie Zoryeah, setting a spiritually uplifting tone for the reflection.
The reflection centered on the Seven Last Words of Jesus Christ, with each word presented in sequence by members of our YMCA community:
1๏ธโฃ โFather, forgive themโฆโ โ Lansana Conteh, Finance Director
2๏ธโฃ โToday you will be with me in paradise.โ โ Claudius Thomas
3๏ธโฃ โWoman, behold your sonโฆโ โ James Wakor, HR/Operations Manager
4๏ธโฃ โMy God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?โ โ Vonyee Newton Kolison, National General Secretary
5๏ธโฃ โI thirst.โ โ Catherine Mensah and Theresa Browne, Interns
6๏ธโฃ โIt is finished.โ โ Gayflor Pewee, Intern/Youth Representative
7๏ธโฃ โFather, into Your hands I commit My spirit.โ โ Daniel Kollie, Director, YMCA Polytechnic College
Following the presentations, Daniel Kollie, YMCA Polytechnic Director, provided further insight, reinforcing the significance of the messages shared.
Each speaker delivered thoughtful reflections that deepened our understanding of Christโs sacrifice, love, and mission.
Our Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, Amanda Armah, offered a powerful summary of the Seven Words and encouraged all participants to:
โข Find a prayer partner for continued spiritual support
โข Reflect on the Seven Words in our daily lives, both at home and within the Liberia YMCA
The session concluded with:
โข A prayer for the National General Secretary led by Amos Davis, Support Staff
โข A closing benediction delivered by Tunapu V. Conteh, Business Manager of YMCA Polytechnic College
This gathering reflects our mission:
โThe YMCA of Liberia seeks to unite and empower young people through self-development and service to their community as an extension of the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.โ
As we journey through this Easter season, may we continue to live out these teachings through faith, unity, and service.
Together, we reflect. Together, we grow. Together, we serve.
