Speech by the CEO of Reintegrate Liberia
Theme: “There Is No Place Like Home”
Distinguished Government Officials,
Honorable Guests,
Members of the Press,
Development Partners,
Fellow Liberians at home and abroad,
Ladies and Gentlemen:

Good day to you all.
On behalf of REINTEGRATE LIBERIA, a migrant advocacy and reintegration organization committed to restoring hope, dignity, and opportunity for vulnerable migrants and returning citizens, I am deeply honored to address this gathering today.
Our message is simple but urgent: there is truly no place like home.

Across Africa and beyond, many Liberians continue to leave home in search of better opportunities, safety, education, and economic survival. While migration itself is not a crime, unsafe and irregular migration has exposed many of our brothers and sisters to hardship, exploitation, discrimination, human trafficking, forced labor, detention, and even death.

Many migrants return home emotionally wounded, financially broken, and socially rejected. Some come back without jobs, without support systems, and without hope for a better future. These challenges demand collective national attention.

Today, as the CEO of a migrant advocacy NGO, I humbly appeal to the Government of Liberia to prioritize the wellbeing, protection, rehabilitation, and empowerment of migrants and returnees.
A nation becomes stronger when it protects its people both at home and abroad.
We respectfully call on the Government to:
Strengthen migrant protection policies and reintegration programs.

Create sustainable employment and vocational opportunities for returning migrants.
Increase public awareness on the dangers of irregular migration and human trafficking.
Expand mental health and psychosocial support services for vulnerable returnees.
Promote youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, agriculture, education, and skills training.
Collaborate closely with NGOs, civil society organizations, and international partners working in migration.
