The Monrovia College Alumni Association (MCAA) proudly congratulates Dr. Dougbeh Chris Nyan, on being honored with the African Genius Award 2025. He joins 16 other distinguished Africans selected from over one hundred nominees across the continent for this prestigious recognition.

Dr. Nyan, an accomplished biomedical scientist and one of our most celebrated alumni, was recognized for his groundbreaking invention: the Rapid Multiplex Isothermal Diagnostic Test (the Nyan-Test), a pioneering innovation in the fight against infectious diseases.

This honor underscores not only Dr. Nyan’s brilliance and contribution to science but also reaffirms the enduring legacy of Monrovia College & Industrial Training School as a premier institution of learning. ‎We’re delighted to announce that one of our prominent alumni, Dr. Dougbeh Chris Nyan, has been nominated for the African Genius Award for the development of a rapid test that detects multiple infectious diseases, leading to his contribution to global health and humanity.
‎
‎He’s nominated among outstanding figures like Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng from Kenya, who is leading the advocacy of mathematics and science among Black scholars, and Lucky Mashudu Netshidzati from South Africa, who developed a smart glove that provides translation from South African sign language into voice and text.

‎Monrovia College has always been a hub for geniuses and academicians. We’re old in the game and still in the game since 1922.

FROM JAMBOREE TO STRATEGIC VISION: KEEPING THE SPIRIT ALIVE.

On behalf of the leadership of the Monrovia College Alumni Association, The Monkeys Kingdom: I extend warm patriotic greetings to each of you on this National Flag Day.

Once again, I join our distinguished Chairman, Mr. Thomas GS Doeway in expressing heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to every member for your support, commitment, and active participation in making our recent Jamboree and Retreat a resounding success. Your energy and unity demonstrated the true spirit of Monrovia College Alumni.

As we move forward, having identified our shared priorities, the leadership will continue working closely with the Technical Committee to develop a SMART Strategic Plan that will guide our Association over the next 3–5 years. This is indeed an exciting moment for us, and we must not allow the unity, strength, and momentum we have built together to diminish.
