Almost 10 years ago, I started a journey I wasn’t sure I would ever finish. There were moments I had to pause, moments I doubted myself and moments life said, “not now.” But through all of it, I held on to one thing; the belief that one day, I would walk across that stage.

On May 28, I will graduate from Harvard with a Master’s Degree in Data Science / Machine Learning Engineering. Even writing those words feels emotional. HARVARD!!! Ten years later. ME.?!!

And the truth is, I did not get here alone. There were people who stood by me when things were uncertain.
People who reminded me who I was when I forgot.
People who believed in me even when the path did not make sense.

And among those people, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai became a special source of strength for me. In many ways, he became a father figure during some of the hardest moments of this journey. When life felt heavy and the dream felt distant, he reminded me who I was and made sure I finished.

This degree belongs to him and to everyone who prayed for me, encouraged me, checked on me, and carried me through moments I thought I would not survive.

So today, I’m doing something that feels deeply personal. I am committing 1,000,000 Liberian Dollars to support students who had to stop their college journey, but still dream of finishing.

Because I know what it feels like to almost give up.
I know what it feels like to be delayed, not denied.
And I know how powerful it is when someone believes in you at the right time.

If that’s you or someone you know, please reach out.
It is not too late. I know because I almost didn't make it either.

Apply. Come back to your dream. Let someone help carry it with you this time.

This is my thank you to everyone who carried me.
This is my promise to give back what was given to me.
And this is me reaching back to pull someone else forward.

Your story is not over, my friend. Not even close. 🎓🖤

Today was an incredible experience at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection alongside fellow SRHR champions during the launch of the National Youth Gender-Based Violence Taskforce.

The taskforce aims to strengthen GBV awareness and promote gender inclusion by addressing key issues such as coordination, through collaboration with youth-led organizations, communities, and stakeholders to improve access to justice; limited awareness, by educating communities on GBV prevention and survivor support; and negative social norms, by challenging harmful cultural beliefs that normalize violence and discrimination.

Its major objectives include establishing a strong youth GBV taskforce, building capacity, increasing community awareness, and strengthening youth participation in GBV policy and governance.

The initiative also emphasizes inclusive stakeholder engagement involving young people, government institutions, traditional leaders, and development partners.

Key action plans include strengthening rapid GBV response systems, identifying major gaps, creating safe spaces for survivors, organizing youth-led summits, and building donor partnerships to ensure effective support for victims.

Honored to have been part of such a meaningful initiative toward ending GBV in Liberia and beyond.
