Survivors' Truths Liberia

Survivors' Truths Liberia Survivors’ Truths Liberia supports Liberian communities by connecting their knowledge and technological resources with the power of healing stories.

Every culture has traditions for resolving differences and making plans for communities. These approaches are naturally more familiar, accessible, and quickly implemented by local people than imported interventions. Liberian culture has many strong traditions that are contributing to locally-led peace but these efforts are not always visible or well understood by donor countries who are investing

in Liberia's long-term stability. Based in the knowledge of story's power to heal and connect, Survivors’ Truths Liberia helps Liberians push locally-relevant peace and reconciliation forward by connecting their knowledge and traditions with technological resources.

This is to announce the home going of our Mother and a very strong supporter of Survivors Truths... Sue Ann Andersen. She was born on June 29, 1938 in Michigan and died peacefully on February 5, 2026 in California with her Daughter Dove Pressnall,Grand Son and Sister by her side. For the 25 years before she retired in 2010 she was a missionary in Papua New Guinea, helping to translate the New Testament into one of the indigenous languages. Sue deeply appreciated and supported the work of Survivors’ Truths and from her deathbed, she asked Cooper to carry on the work of making sure the most marginalized are heard and supported this a very sad moment for us ... REST IN PEACE MOM🫂🕊️

Interesting!

Far from cultural add-ons, these traditions reveal how Western psychology’s assumptions about mind, health, and healing may be too narrow to serve a diverse world.
