This World Environment Day, we stand united as a global youth movement to protect our planet and demand bold, systemic change.

Our environment is in crisis — from climate change to plastic pollution. As YOUNGO, the official youth constituency to the UNFCCC, we call for urgent action that puts people and the planet before profit.

We envision a plastic-free, just, and climate-resilient world — and the time to act is now.

Let’s lead the change, together.

📣 BIG NEWS from Liberia! 🇱🇷
Improve Liberia Cooperation Movement has been recognized by HundrED as one of their world’s top innovative education projects! 🌍🎉

Improve Liberia Cooperation Movement is now recognized among the world’s top educational innovations—and we’re just getting started. 🙌🇱🇷

In many rural parts of Liberia, children and youth grow up with little or no access to quality education, other youth don't understand anything like SDG's goal. Most come from families where reading, writing, or even holding a pencil feels foreign. This is where we step in—not just as educators, but as community builders. ❤️

🔍 How do we teach children who’ve never seen a book before?
We start from where they are, not where the system expects them to be. Our approach is simple but powerful:

✅ Personalized Learning – Every child learns at their own pace. We sit with them, listen, observe, and then create a learning plan that fits them—not the other way around.

✅ Project-Based Learning – Instead of memorizing things they don’t understand, our students learn by doing. For example, a child might learn math by helping calculate crop yields in the school garden. They learn teamwork by running a recycling project or organizing a cultural day. Education starts making sense when it’s tied to real life.

✅ Safe, welcoming spaces – Our classrooms feel more like home. We teach in ways that feel natural to them—in their own language, with patience, and with love. Some students hold a pencil for the first time at age 10—and that moment is never too late for us.

🧑🏾‍🌾 From young farmers learning to read seed packets, to girls who thought school wasn’t for them discovering science through water purification projects—we see lives change every day.

💡 This recognition from HundrED reminds us that even from a remote village, innovation can shine. 🌟 Our commitment to education is not , it’s about healing, lifting, and unlocking hidden potential.
