AYF Liberia Welcomed UN Peacebuilding Commission Chair, Reinforces Youth Leadership in Peacebuilding Agenda.

Monrovia- Liberia : Over the weekend, African Youth Fellowship (AYF) Liberia had the distinct honor of welcoming Her Excellency Madam Nicola Clase, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations and Chair of the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission Liberia Configuration, on her official visit to Liberia. The visit, led by a Joint United Nations High-Level Delegation including the UN Resident Coordinator, reflects the continued commitment of the United Nations and its partners to strengthening peacebuilding efforts and inclusive development in Liberia.

During the engagement, the Founder of AYF Liberia, Amb. Moses Buwee, extended a warm welcome to Her Excellency and conveyed sincere appreciation to the United Nations for its sustained support to the Youth Promotion Initiative (YPI) Project. He underscored the significant progress made through the project, particularly in enhancing youth participation in the digital space, promoting civic engagement, and amplifying peacebuilding narratives among young people.

Amb. Buwee further emphasized the importance of prioritizing youth as strategic partners in advancing Liberia’s peace and development agenda, while presenting key highlights of AYF’s run for Peace and Youth Assembly. The event was held at CEIO, a implementing partner under the YPI Project.

The visit brought together key UN partners, including UN Women, UNFPA, the UN Peacebuilding Fund, and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, reaffirming a collective commitment to collaborative peace building efforts in Liberia.

A high-level delegation from the African Youth Fellowship–Liberia (AYF) paid a courtesy visit to the UN Women Country Representative to Liberia, Madam Comfort Lamptey.
The discussions focused on the impact of AYF’s Digital Empowerment for Peacebuilding and Advocacy program under the Youth Promotion Initiative (YPI) Project, as well as AYF Liberia’s 2026 strategic priorities. Particular emphasis was placed on advancing peace, strengthening the role of women in peacebuilding, and promoting human rights.

Madam Lamptey commended AYF Liberia for its impactful contributions and recognized the critical leadership role that young people, especially young women continue to play in driving sustainable peace and development. She further reaffirmed that UN Women remains committed to supporting AYF Liberia’s efforts in advancing inclusive, youth- and women-led peacebuilding initiatives.
AYF Liberia remains dedicated to fostering collaborative partnerships that place youth and women at the center of peacebuilding and national development.

AYF Liberia Participates in Induction Ceremony of Newly Elected CSO Chairperson in Liberia.

The African Youth Fellowship (AYF) joined fellow Civil Society Organization (CSO) leaders, representatives from the Office of the President, Diplomatic Missions, and International Organizations at the induction ceremony of the newly elected Chairperson of Civil Society Organizations in Liberia.

During the program, AYF Liberia Founder, Ambassador Moses N. Buwee, extended warm congratulations to Mr. Lawrance W. Yealue II on his induction as Chairperson. He reaffirmed AYF Liberia’s commitment to working closely with his office to advance the collective agenda of young people and to promote national peace, development, and inclusive governance.

Amb. Buwee also applauded the outgoing Chairperson for his steadfast leadership and dedicated service to Liberia’s civil society over the years, noting that her contributions have strengthened civic engagement and national advocacy efforts.
