AYF Liberia Receives Special Assessment Team from Community Health Initiative (CHI)

African Youth Fellowship (AYF Liberia) was pleased to welcome a special Assessment Team from the Community Health Initiative (CHI) to our office for an important engagement focused on learning more about our programs, and ongoing efforts to advance youth empowerment, peacebuilding, civic engagement, and sustainable development in Liberia.

The engagement provided a valuable opportunity for AYF Liberia to share experiences, achievements, and challenges, while highlighting the impact of our work with young people and communities under the YPI project.

We sincerely appreciate the CHI Assessment Team for taking the time to engage with our team and learn more about our work and vision. We look forward to continued dialogue, strengthened partnerships, and opportunities for collaboration as we work together to create meaningful and sustainable change for young people and communities in Liberia.

AYF Liberia Reaffirms Commitment to Advancing Youth, Peace and Security in Liberia.

African Youth Fellowship-Liberia (AYF Liberia), as a member of the Liberia Coalition on Youth, Peace and Security, was honored to participate in the Annual Youth, Peace, and Security Forum convened in Monrovia under the theme: “Sustaining the Momentum for Liberia YPS NAP Implementation.”

The forum provided an important platform for youth leaders, government Institutions , civil society organizations, and International partners to engage in strategic dialogue, strengthen collaboration, and advance practical approaches toward the implementation of Liberia’s Youth, Peace and Security National Action Plan.

AYF Liberia recognizes the critical role of young people as partners in sustaining Liberia’s peace, democratic governance, and inclusive development. We remain committed to supporting youth-led peacebuilding initiatives, promoting meaningful youth participation, and contributing to national efforts that foster social cohesion and lasting peace.

We extend our appreciation to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, development partners, and members of the Liberia Coalition on Youth, Peace and Security for their continued commitment to empowering young people and strengthening Liberia’s peace and security architecture.

AYF Liberia Welcomed UN Peacebuilding Commission Chair, Reinforces Youth Leadership in Peacebuilding Agenda.

Monrovia- Liberia : Over the weekend, African Youth Fellowship (AYF) Liberia had the distinct honor of welcoming Her Excellency Madam Nicola Clase, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations and Chair of the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission Liberia Configuration, on her official visit to Liberia. The visit, led by a Joint United Nations High-Level Delegation including the UN Resident Coordinator, reflects the continued commitment of the United Nations and its partners to strengthening peacebuilding efforts and inclusive development in Liberia.

During the engagement, the Founder of AYF Liberia, Amb. Moses Buwee, extended a warm welcome to Her Excellency and conveyed sincere appreciation to the United Nations for its sustained support to the Youth Promotion Initiative (YPI) Project. He underscored the significant progress made through the project, particularly in enhancing youth participation in the digital space, promoting civic engagement, and amplifying peacebuilding narratives among young people.

Amb. Buwee further emphasized the importance of prioritizing youth as strategic partners in advancing Liberia’s peace and development agenda, while presenting key highlights of AYF’s run for Peace and Youth Assembly. The event was held at CEIO, a implementing partner under the YPI Project.

The visit brought together key UN partners, including UN Women, UNFPA, the UN Peacebuilding Fund, and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, reaffirming a collective commitment to collaborative peace building efforts in Liberia.

A high-level delegation from the African Youth Fellowship–Liberia (AYF) paid a courtesy visit to the UN Women Country Representative to Liberia, Madam Comfort Lamptey.
The discussions focused on the impact of AYF’s Digital Empowerment for Peacebuilding and Advocacy program under the Youth Promotion Initiative (YPI) Project, as well as AYF Liberia’s 2026 strategic priorities. Particular emphasis was placed on advancing peace, strengthening the role of women in peacebuilding, and promoting human rights.

Madam Lamptey commended AYF Liberia for its impactful contributions and recognized the critical leadership role that young people, especially young women continue to play in driving sustainable peace and development. She further reaffirmed that UN Women remains committed to supporting AYF Liberia’s efforts in advancing inclusive, youth- and women-led peacebuilding initiatives.
AYF Liberia remains dedicated to fostering collaborative partnerships that place youth and women at the center of peacebuilding and national development.
