FFUSOL Commemorates the Day of the African Child, Calls for Unity, Justice, and Inclusion Across Africa

The Bureau of Communication and Publicity of the Federation of Fula Students of Liberia (FFUSOL) issues this statement following the participation of its President in a special program organized by the All African Student Union (AASU) in commemoration of the Day of the African Child.

The Day of the African Child serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by African children in the struggle for equal access to education, dignity, and opportunity. It is also a moment for reflection on the collective responsibility to create a continent where every child can grow, learn, and thrive in a peaceful and inclusive environment.

During the event, the President Mohammed Ali Barry, reflected on the longstanding relationship between FFUSOL and the All African Student Union, emphasizing the shared commitment of both institutions to promoting Pan-African values, educational advancement, youth empowerment and the protection of the rights and aspirations of African students.

President Ali, also paid tribute to the late Varney Jersey for his unwavering commitment to Pan-Africanism, social justice, and inclusion in Liberia. His legacy of advocacy and service continues to inspire young Africans to work toward a more united and prosperous continent.

In the spirit of the Day of the African Child, the President condemned xenophobic attacks against fellow African migrants in South Africa and called on African leaders, institutions, and citizens to uphold the values of solidarity, respect and human dignity. He stressed that African children deserve to inherit a continent defined by unity rather than division.

The President further urged Africans to embrace cooperation and collective action in addressing the challenges confronting the continent, noting that the future of Africa depends on strengthening bonds among its people and creating opportunities for the next generation.

The Bureau of Communication and Publicity extends its sincere appreciation to Executive Committee Member of AASU, Madam Ambassador Oumou Sall, for her exemplary leadership and for extending an invitation to FFUSOL to participate in this important continental commemoration.

As Africa marks the Day of the African Child, FFUSOL reaffirms its commitment to advancing education, inclusion, social justice, youth empowerment, and African unity, while advocating for a brighter future for all African children.

FFUSOL Congratulates Mariama Jalloh and Alusine Sow on Successful Participation in the Young Political Leadership School Africa Cohort 13

The Federation of Fula Students of Liberia (FFUSOL), through its Bureau of Communication and Publicity, extends heartfelt congratulations to Mariama Jalloh, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Communication and Publicity, and Hon Alusine S Sow, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Education and Scholarship, on their successful participation in the Young Political Leadership School Africa (YPLSA) Cohort 13.

The five-day intensive training, held from June 8 to 12, 2026, at the Royal Ambassador Hotel, Unification Town, Lower Margibi County, brought together 200 young leaders from several African countries. Participants engaged in rigorous sessions covering leadership, civic duties and responsibilities, emotional intelligence, youth development, and a range of other critical areas designed to sharpen the capacity of Africa's next generation of leaders.

FFUSOL is particularly proud that Mariama and Alusine carried the Federation's name to this prestigious continental platform and represented the Fula student community with distinction. Their participation reflects the growing visibility of FFUSOL members in spaces of leadership and learning across Africa, and stands as a testament to the caliber of young people within our ranks.

On a personal note, FFUSOL Chief of Staff Alieu Zainoul Abidine Jalloh and Director General of the Bureau of Communication and Publicity, Samsee Barry — both alumni of YPLSA — paid a courtesy visit to the training venue to welcome Mariama and Alusine and offer their personal support during the program. It was a moment of alumni solidarity, a reminder that the YPLSA family runs deep, and that FFUSOL takes care of its own.

The Federation encourages Mariama and Alusine to apply the knowledge, networks, and experiences gained from this training to their work within FFUSOL and their broader communities. Leadership is not a title — it is a practice, and this training has equipped them further for that responsibility.

FFUSOL also appreciates the organizers of the Young Political Leadership School Africa for continuing to invest in the development of young African leaders. Programs like YPLSA are exactly the kind of platforms that shape the continent's future.

Once again, congratulations to Mariama Jalloh and Alusine Sow. FFUSOL is proud of you both.

FFUSOL Celebrates President Mohammed Ali Barry's Participation in Historic Youth Legislative Caucus Working Session

The Federation of Fula Students of Liberia (FFUSOL), through its Bureau of Communication and Publicity, warmly acknowledges and celebrates the participation of its President, Mohammed Ali Barry, in the working session convened toward the formal establishment of the Youth Legislative Caucus in Liberia.

The session, held at the Boulevard Palace Hotel in Monrovia with support from the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD), brought together youth-aligned lawmakers, the House Committee on Youth and Sports, the Interim Caucus Chair, and representatives from major youth and student organizations across Liberia. Participants reviewed the governance framework and rules that will guide the final step toward formally establishing the Youth Legislative Caucus — a body that will serve as the voice of young Liberians inside the National Legislature. The activity is funded by the European Union and the Embassies of Ireland and Sweden, directly managed by UNDP, and implemented by NIMD and UN Women.

FFUSOL is proud that its President was present at this landmark gathering. The Fula student community deserves representation in every space where decisions affecting young people are made, and President Barry's seat at this table is a reflection of FFUSOL's commitment to ensuring that Fulani youth are never absent from national conversations that shape their future.

FFUSOL encourages all Fulani students and young people across Liberia to remain engaged, informed, and hopeful as this process moves forward. The establishment of the Youth Legislative Caucus is not just a victory for one group — it is a victory for every young Liberian who has ever felt unheard.

The Federation extends sincere appreciation to the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) for convening this important session, to NIMD for its continued support of democratic youth engagement, to the legislators who showed up for young people, and to all funding partners whose investment is making this historic milestone possible.

FFUSOL remains fully committed to supporting the formal establishment of the Youth Legislative Caucus and will continue to engage all relevant processes that advance the interests of young Liberians, including the Fula student community.

FEDERATION OF FULA STUDENTS OF LIBERIA (FFUSOL)
Office of the National Leadership

OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE EXPULSION OF THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

The Federation of Fula Students of Liberia (FFUSOL), a body grounded in the principles of unity, discipline, constitutional order, and respect for institutional norms and traditions, hereby announces the immediate expulsion of Mr. Abrahim Tarnouh Bah, formerly serving as Vice President for International Affairs.

This decisive action follows a sustained pattern of gross misconduct, lack of institutional discipline, delinquency, and a blatant failure to uphold the Constitution, values, and time-honored traditions of FFUSOL. As an institution that prides itself on integrity and responsible leadership, such behavior is not only unacceptable but fundamentally incompatible with the responsibilities entrusted to any member of its national leadership.

Mr. Bah’s conduct, particularly his sarcastic and unserious attempt to resign under the guise of an April Fool’s gesture, demonstrated a clear disregard for the seriousness of his office and the credibility of the institution. His actions were not only irresponsible but calculated to bring public disrepute to FFUSOL, undermine its image, and instill discord within its ranks.

FFUSOL views these actions as a direct affront to its mission and collective struggle for academic excellence, unity, and socio-cultural inclusion. Leadership within this institution is not a platform for mockery or personal theatrics, but a sacred trust that demands discipline, accountability, and unwavering commitment.

In light of the above, and in accordance with the Constitution of FFUSOL, the leadership has resolved that Mr. Abrahim Tarnouh Bah’s expressed desire to exit the institution—albeit in a disrespectful and unserious manner—is hereby formally fulfilled through his expulsion.

Let it be made unequivocally clear:
FFUSOL is an institution governed by law, guided by traditions, and strengthened by discipline. We remain resolute in instilling these values in all our members and leaders. Any attempt to undermine the integrity, unity, and reputation of this institution will be met with firm and lawful action.

We assure all members, partners, and the general public that FFUSOL will not relent in executing its mandate. We remain committed to building a disciplined, united, and progressive student body that contributes meaningfully to national development.

One Struggle, One People, One Liberia.

National Leadership
