FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FFUSOL Commemorates the Day of the African Child, Calls for Unity, Justice, and Inclusion Across Africa
The Bureau of Communication and Publicity of the Federation of Fula Students of Liberia (FFUSOL) issues this statement following the participation of its President in a special program organized by the All African Student Union (AASU) in commemoration of the Day of the African Child.
The Day of the African Child serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by African children in the struggle for equal access to education, dignity, and opportunity. It is also a moment for reflection on the collective responsibility to create a continent where every child can grow, learn, and thrive in a peaceful and inclusive environment.
During the event, the President Mohammed Ali Barry, reflected on the longstanding relationship between FFUSOL and the All African Student Union, emphasizing the shared commitment of both institutions to promoting Pan-African values, educational advancement, youth empowerment and the protection of the rights and aspirations of African students.
President Ali, also paid tribute to the late Varney Jersey for his unwavering commitment to Pan-Africanism, social justice, and inclusion in Liberia. His legacy of advocacy and service continues to inspire young Africans to work toward a more united and prosperous continent.
In the spirit of the Day of the African Child, the President condemned xenophobic attacks against fellow African migrants in South Africa and called on African leaders, institutions, and citizens to uphold the values of solidarity, respect and human dignity. He stressed that African children deserve to inherit a continent defined by unity rather than division.
The President further urged Africans to embrace cooperation and collective action in addressing the challenges confronting the continent, noting that the future of Africa depends on strengthening bonds among its people and creating opportunities for the next generation.
The Bureau of Communication and Publicity extends its sincere appreciation to Executive Committee Member of AASU, Madam Ambassador Oumou Sall, for her exemplary leadership and for extending an invitation to FFUSOL to participate in this important continental commemoration.
As Africa marks the Day of the African Child, FFUSOL reaffirms its commitment to advancing education, inclusion, social justice, youth empowerment, and African unity, while advocating for a brighter future for all African children.
