Today, the Nimene Tweh Foundation proudly celebrated and awarded Scholarships to hundreds of students from across Liberia for the 2026 Academic School Year.
This was more than a scholarship award ceremony, it was a celebration of dreams, determination, opportunity, and the power of investing in education.
Every certificate presented today represents a young Liberian whose educational journey has been strengthened by an opportunity to learn, grow, and prepare for a brighter future. These students are not merely beneficiaries; they are future doctors, lawyers, nurses, engineers, educators, entrepreneurs, public servants, and leaders who will contribute to the transformation of Liberia.
For years, the Foundation has remained committed to supporting Liberian students and families, because we firmly believe that education is one of the greatest investments we can make in our country.

Scholar Merci Miller writes 👇

Today, as I graduate with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology, my heart is filled with gratitude to one man God used to change my story!Dr. Thomas Nimene Tweh.

Dr. Tweh is truly a father to many, a man with a heart for people, and the definition of a “talk and do” person. When he heard my story, he simply said, “Merci, I will pay your fees until you graduate.” And he kept his word.

He met me as a dropout sophomore student, gave me another chance through the Nimene Tweh Foundation, and faithfully sponsored my education until today. Because of his generosity, I am proudly graduating with a BSc in Biology.

There was a time I owed Cuttington University tuition, but when Dr. Tweh stepped in, my story changed completely. His kindness restored my hope and made this dream a reality.

To Dr. Thomas Nimene Tweh and the Nimene Tweh Foundation, thank you for believing in me and investing in my future. I will forever be grateful.

My prayer is that God continues to bless you with long life, good health, wisdom, peace, and overflowing favor. May He bless your family, enlarge your influence, and continue to use you to transform many more lives.

One early morning, he woke up and realized that he urgently needed medical attention due to a serious health condition. Seeking help, he turned to a neighbor, who assisted him in reaching out to Dr. Thomas Nimene Tweh, Jr-Original Countryman.
Upon learning of his situation, Dr. Tweh stepped in and generously covered the cost of his surgery. Thanks to this timely intervention, the operation was successful, and today he is well, healthy, and living a better life.
This act of compassion and support serves as a reminder that a helping hand can make a life-changing difference when it is needed most.

Do you know that a single military-grade bullet can cost between US$3–US$8?
That may seem small until you realize what that money truly means.
That same amount could buy a child a meal.
It could put a book in a student’s hands.
It could help a struggling family survive one more day.
Now imagine thousands, even millions of bullets.

That is food taken from empty stomachs.
That is hope taken from young minds.
That is life taken from communities that are already fighting to survive.

Every bullet fired is more than a weapon, it is a stolen opportunity.
An opportunity to build, to heal, to grow.
Let our hearts be heavier than our weapons.
Let compassion be louder than gunfire.
