The MenEngage Liberia Youth Steering Committee delegation has just touched down in Nairobi to take part in the Africa Regional Convening Towards Women Deliver 2026.

This important conference is set to unfold in Nairobi, Kenya, from November 24–26, 2025. It aims to gather advocates who are passionate about discussing and strategizing on gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) across Africa. The goal is to bolster advocacy networks, outline a clear path toward achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and tackle pressing issues like shrinking civic spaces and funding cuts by pushing for greater accountability and solutions.

Representing Liberia are Monjue Tenneh Grigsby and Princess Magdalene Fallah, who serve as the Youth Steering Committee Chair and a member, respectively.

During their time in Nairobi, the MenEngage Liberia delegation plans to engage in meaningful discussions with networks from across Africa and beyond, aiming to strengthen partnerships.

The delegation is set to head back home this weekend.

The Center for Justice and Peace Studies (CJPS) proudly serves as the host and secretariat for the MenEngage Liberia Network.

MenEngage Liberia Commends Real Women of Substance Inc. on World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025

Over the weekend in Harbel Camp #2, Real Women of Substance, Inc, one of our valued partners, led a bold and inspiring observance of World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, under the banner of breaking silence, challenging stigma, and empowering menstruating individuals across Liberia.

As MenEngage Liberia, we proudly stand in solidarity with this powerful call—to women, men, organizations, and nations—to recognize that menstruation is not a limitation, but a symbol of strength and resilience. This day reminds us that:
🔴 Dignity, access, and menstrual education are basic human rights.
🔴 Shame has no place in a world where menstruation is natural and vital.
🔴 Knowledge is key to empowerment.
🔴 Open conversations create inclusive, equitable communities.

We applaud Real Women of Substance Inc. for leading the charge and urge all stakeholders to continue championing menstrual justice in Liberia and beyond.

Supporting the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Year-Long Suspension of “Bush School”.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has taken the decision to place a year-long suspension on bush school activities, marking a significant step toward protecting the rights of women and girls in Liberia.

This move aligns with national and international commitments to end harmful traditional practices, including Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) and child marriage (UNICEF, 2023). The suspension allows for critical discussions on sustainable, rights-based alternatives while ensuring that cultural preservation does not come at the expense of human rights.

In support of this effort, MenEngage Liberia held a dialogue session on December 22, 2023, in B**g County, focusing on the elimination of child marriage and FGM. This engagement brought together traditional leaders, youth, women’s groups, and policymakers, fostering conversations on how communities can uphold cultural values while protecting girls from harmful practices (MenEngage, 2023). Ending child marriage and FGM is essential for achieving gender equality, education access, and improved health outcomes for young girls in Liberia.

As civil society networks of organizations, we work with the government hand in hand, it is crucial to continue advocacy, education, and legal reforms to ensure a future where all girls are safe, empowered, and free from violence.
