CELEBRATING TVET EXCELLENCE & NEW WORKSHOPS!
A ceremony marking the graduation of 76 TVET training staff from LOIC, AVTP, BDOTC, MVTC, and Maryann Cheeseman under the IECD Program for Reflective and Operational Facilitation (PROF). This was followed by the official handover of 3 newly equipped workshops: Electricity, Masonry, and Hospitality.
This milestone was implemented through the STRIVE Project funded by AFD, with strong alignment to national priorities.
Keynote Speaker Hon. Thomas M. Parker, Deputy Minister for Research, Planning and Development at the Ministry of Education, shared powerful words with the graduates:
'Strive to innovate with passion and connect your skills to job opportunities. Bring the classroom to industries and foster entrepreneurship for development. Every skill you teach has the power to create jobs, build industry and strengthen community. Never underestimate the impact of your work. You are not just training, you are building the future.
You are the bridge between education and employment, knowledge and productivity. Remain committed, be patient and be creative. Also continue to learn because the world is changing, so keep upgrading your skills. Live by example and inspire discipline, innovation and creativity. Go out with confidence, teach with passion and serve with purpose.
Remember to always teach with:
1. Excellence
2. Integrity
3. Accountability
Nations grow not only through politics but through skills and committed minds.'
To our partners: Today we have not only built buildings but we have built hope in the next generation. This partnership aligns squarely with national priorities.
LOIC Executive Director F. Rufus Monroe shared this charge with the 76 TVET graduates;
'To the graduates: Let us build our nation. Most people took to the gun because they were not skilled, so do your best and apply every training that was given to you.'
He also commended IECD and the Government of Liberia for their tireless efforts in training and empowering our staff.
Together, we build Liberia through skills!
Congratulations to all 76 Graduates
