OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY CEO MS. LORINA F. JOSIAH
GIRLS CIRCLE MOVEMENT (GCM)
IN CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
March 8, 2025
Esteemed Women and Girls of GCM, Fellow Liberians, and the Global Village,
Today, we stand together to celebrate International Women’s Day a day that honors the strength, resilience, and achievements of women and girls across the world. It is a moment of reflection, appreciation, and renewed commitment to advancing gender equality and empowerment in every sphere of society.
As the CEO of the Girls Circle Movement (GCM), I extend my heartfelt wishes to all the incredible women and young girls within our movement, throughout Liberia, and beyond. Your courage, dedication, and unwavering spirit continue to shape our communities, inspire change, and break barriers for future generations.
This year’s International Women’s Day serves as a reminder that while we have made significant progress, there is still work to be done. Women and girls continue to face challenges, including gender-based violence, limited access to education and opportunities, and societal inequalities that hinder our full potential. However, I firmly believe that when we unite, support, and uplift each other, there is no obstacle too great to overcome.
At GCM, we are committed to fostering an environment where every girl has the opportunity to learn, lead, and thrive. We will continue advocating for policies that protect and promote women’s rights, ensuring that no girl is left behind. Our mission is clear: to empower the next generation of female leaders who will drive meaningful change in Liberia and beyond.
As we celebrate today, let us remember that every woman’s voice matters, every girl’s dream is valid, and every step toward equality brings us closer to a better world for all. Let us continue to rise, to inspire, and to make a difference in the lives of those around us.
Happy International Women’s Day! May we always stand strong, united, and unstoppable!
Thank you.
MS. LORINA F. JOSIAH
