About a week ago a founding member of the Radical Young Women Movement Liberia in person of Nyaniyon D Dorbor represented the movement and obtained a certificate after participating in the Youth 2.0 Training held in Arusha, Tanzania.
It was an enriched and transformative experience hosted at the MS TCDC, the training convened dynamic young leaders from Zambia, Tanzania, Liberia, Zimbabwe, and Kenya.
Engaging with such a diverse group created a powerful space for shared learning, collaboration, and cross-country exchange.
Throughout the one-week intensive session, her understanding was deepened on youth civic and political participation, facilitation techniques, advocacy strategies, and inclusive engagement approaches.
A key highlight was the comprehensive review of the Youth in Elections Curriculum, which provided practical tools to effectively train and mobilize young people in electoral and governance processes.
What stood out most was the opportunity to learn from the lived experiences of participants across different contexts. Despite our diverse backgrounds, we identified common challenges facing young people in civic spaces and most importantly, explored collective, actionable solutions.
This experience has further strengthened her commitment and that of the movement to advancing youth empowerment, promoting active citizenship, and contributing to sustainable community development.
She has returned inspired, better equipped, and ready to amplify impact within our networks and beyond, particularly in the lead-up to elections.
