PLEASE READ TO THE END!!!!
π₯ A GENERATION IS AT A CROSSROAD β AND YOUTH ARE CHOOSING TO STAND UP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.
Across Liberia today, drug abuse among young people is not just increasing β it is destroying dreams, families, and futures. But in the midst of this growing crisis, a youth-led movement is rising with urgency, courage, and responsibility.
The Guardians of Change Movement, under the Students Union for Peace, Development and Advocacy (SUPDA Liberia), stands as a national youth initiative committed to:
π Fighting drug abuse through awareness and prevention
π Building responsible, disciplined, and empowered young leaders
π Restoring hope among vulnerable youth
π Promoting peace, education, and positive community engagement
π Creating certified youth ambassadors for change
π₯ OUR IMPACT SO FAR (EDITIONS 1β3)
Through our Guardians of Change Editions 1, 2, and 3, we have, in our own humble but determined way:
β Trained over 100 young people as Certified Anti-Drug Ambassadors
β Conducted structured school outreach awareness programs in over 30 High Schools across Montserrado and Margibi Counties
β Engaged students in real conversations about drug prevention, discipline, and leadership
β Mobilized youth volunteers committed to peer-to-peer transformation
β Built a growing network of young change agents working at community level
This is only the beginning β but the impact is real.
π’ NATIONAL YOUTH & DRUGS DIALOGUE
Recently, we successfully convened the National Youth and Drugs Dialogue, bringing together over 200 young people from different communities to openly confront the reality of drug abuse in Liberia.
It was not a ceremony β it was a national emergency conversation led by young people themselves, where voices were heard, pain was shared, and solutions were demanded.
THIS IS AN URGENT APPEAL
We are making this appeal not as an organization seeking recognition, but as young people responding to a crisis that is already affecting our generation.
The scale of drug abuse among youth is growing faster than intervention efforts.
What we are doing is important β but it is not enough without national support.
π€ CALL FOR IMMEDIATE DIALOGUE & PARTNERSHIP
We respectfully and urgently call for engagement with:
* The Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports
* The Honorable Speaker of the House of Representatives
* The Senator of Montserrado County
* National policymakers and institutions
* Humanitarian and development partners
* Concerned Liberians who believe in youth transformation
* Liberia National Studentsβ Union - LINSU
We are ready to present our full impact, lessons learned, and expansion strategy to scale this initiative nationwide.
OUR MESSAGE
We believe:
π Prevention is cheaper than correction
π Youth are not the problem β they are the solution
π Silence is no longer an option
π And action is now a national responsibility
This is not just a program.
This is a movement of urgency, responsibility, and survival for a generation.
