Last week, our Executive Director, Emmanuel G Godfrey, was honored to receive an invitation from the National Youth Parliament of Liberia to serve as a panelist at the All-Africa Youth Forum, an inspiring initiative led by a brilliant and ambitious young African. He was invited to discuss the role of African youth in international economics and trade.

During his remarks, Mr. Godfrey emphasized the urgent need for young people to recognize their power and potential, not as tools for political gain, but as key drivers of sustainable change. Too often, across Africa, young people are used to amplify the voices of politicians who later dismiss them as unfit to lead or too young to make an impact. The time for youth voices to be heard is now, not tomorrow.

He also spoke about Africa’s critical role in shaping global economics and trade, describing the continent as a “ very big cake that is ready.” It is time for African youth to take ownership of the distribution process, ensuring that the benefits of Africa’s resources and opportunities are shared equitably, both for the present and future generations.

In his concluding remarks, he reaffirmed that Africa is a vast business opportunity. As the world transitions from aid to trade, African youth must take the lead in driving entrepreneurship and innovation. He also highlighted how our work at the African Impact Institute is focused on building a community of 100,000 young African entrepreneurs, dedicated to transforming ideas into sustainable impact.

The Entrepreneur Academy is a business training program created to help young people learn how to start, grow, and successfully manage their own businesses. Participants will gain practical skills, mentorship, and access to a community of like-minded innovators who are ready to transform ideas into real opportunities.
