Celebrating and a legacy of global impact! πŸŒπŸ’—πŸ’š

A heartfelt congratulations to Soror Ceola Oware for her inspiring keynote address at the Joint Founders’ Day for the Chi Alpha Omega and Chi Sigma Omega Chapters! πŸ•ŠοΈ

As Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. celebrated 118 years of excellence, Soror Ceolaβ€”a proud Ghanaian and visionary leaderβ€”was honored for her transformative work. What began as her 2020 Borehole Project to provide clean water in Ghana grew into a movement of service that ultimately led to the interest and chartering of a chapter in Ghana, West Africa. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡βœ¨

Seeing 118 sorors gathered in stunning traditional African attire to honor these roots was a powerful reminder that sisterhood and collaboration have no borders. Thank you, Soror Ceola, for your dedication to "Service to All Mankind" and for the incredible you continue to write! πŸŒΈπŸ§±πŸ’§

Greetings All!!

**Who**
Please join the AKA African Alliance & members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. affiliated with Ghana as we raise funds to build and donate a borehole to a community in Ghana, West Africa.

**What**
During the pandemic in 2020, The AKA African Alliance answered the call and was the first D9 sorority to provide a borehole to a community in Ghana. It felt so nice, we want to do it twice :--)

We are partnering with the Okyeame Kwame (Ambassador for water aid) Foundation & Team CSR for the Green Ghana initiative.
The initiative includes a climate walk to promote planting 100,000 trees and building 15 boreholes from southern to northern Ghana.

**Why**
According to USAID, only 36 percent of people have access to a safely managed water source, ie, clean water. Leaving the rest of the population to use polluted water sources.

**When**
Please support our effort to donate another borehole to a community in Ghana. All donations are due by Sunday, May 15, 2022 for an early June borehole commissioning.

100% of donations will go to our goal of $4,150 (cost of borehole plus fees associated with transferring money).

**How**
We are offering the following donation recognition bands:

-$250 receives name on permanent plaque on the borehole, name & picture printed on large banner at opening ceremoney and media donation recognition

-$200 receives name & picture printed on large banner at opening ceremony and media donation recognition

-$100 receives name printed on large banner at opening ceremony and media recognition

-All other donation amounts receive media recognition

**Donations received the following ways, by May 15th**

-Cashapp: $AKAAfricanAlliance

-Momo (Ghana payments), zelle and any other donation methods: [email protected]

A little over a year ago, a group of women, The AKA African Alliance, dedicated to service to all mankind, joined together to provide safe drinking water (via building a water well) to a village in West Africa.

We saw the need and answered the call. And are keeping it moving.

Others joined (Friends!)

To date, we have:

1) provided safe drinking water in Ghana;

2) helped school aged girls in Liberia with resources so they can attend school during their periods;

3) & supplied blankets & shoes to an orphanage in South Africa. On Thanksgiving, gently used womens clothing was donated to the same orphanage.

We understood the assignment...helping those in need and will continue to do so, with your support :-)

Today, my ask is that you join us in supporting women's empowerment & service projects in Africa with a donation and/ or by sharing this post.

100% of funds donated go directly to projects - with special recognition for donors as well.

for your donation to the Alpha, Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated International Global Impact Day, 'Ending Period Poverty' Project in Liberia, West Africa.

The project supplied 115 young girls in 3rd - 8th grades with reusable menstrual kits. Each kit contained: two panties, one washcloth, one bottle of vinegar/ Dettol, one bar of soap, two reusable menstrual pads, ten pad inserts, all enclosed in a ziplock lined cloth bag for privacy.

The project addressed the unfortunate occurrence of 1 in 10 girls in Africa & anywhere between 100 -130 million girls are absent from school due to poverty and lack of resources from having their periods.

Check out the complete details on the project listed in the link below.
