BIG NEWS!

Last Friday, IECD Liberia and the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize their collaboration toward establishing a licensing and certification system for electricians in Liberia.

Currently, many individuals can provide electrical services without a standardized certification process, creating challenges around quality, safety, and professional recognition. This partnership aims to close that gap by supporting the development of a system that ensures electricians meet recognized standards.

Through this collaboration, IECD is supporting the Government of Liberia through LERC with curriculum development and the preparation of tools needed to strengthen electrician training, licensing, and certification.

Together, IECD and LERC are advancing skills development, safer electrical practices, and stronger professional standards in Liberia.
