Today, the Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology Student Association celebrates more than a graduation, we honor a legacy of service, sacrifice, and meaningful leadership.

To President Allison Z. T. Dunner, Vice President Alice Williams, Program Chair Abraham Myers, and Treasurer Angenline Sengbe, your time in leadership was not just about holding positions, but about making real impact. You carried responsibility with purpose, stood firm in difficult moments, and gave your energy to move this institution forward.

Your contributions were not ordinary. You strengthened the voice of students, created opportunities for growth, and left behind a structure that others can build on. That kind of Leadership is not easily forgotten it becomes a standard.
As you step into the next chapter, carry that same commitment, courage, and vision with you. The Association is better because of you, and those who come after will walk paths you helped to clear.

SACSA-UL proudly celebrates the induction of five of its members into the University of Liberia Honors Scholars Program.

This achievement is exceptional. It reflects discipline, intellectual strength, consistency, and the courage to go beyond average academic performance. As an association rooted in academic excellence, innovation, and social responsibility, we take pride in seeing our students distinguished at such a prestigious level.

Among the inductees are our Secretary General, Jocephus Tarley Barleh; Barbara Nunyah Gohn; Korpo Yougie; Joanna Robert; and Samson Flomo, whose commitment to academic excellence and principled leadership continues to set a strong example within SACSA-UL and beyond.

We are confident that this milestone is only the beginning of greater academic and professional accomplishments. We remain committed to fostering excellence, research, and leadership within our discipline and across the University.

The Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology Student Association (SACSA) proudly recognizes Victoria Diasay for representing the association today at the Amos Sawyer College Departmental Debate.

Competing alongside other departments, Diasay and her team emerged victorious. Throughout the academic challenge, her confidence, clarity of thought, and strong delivery clearly stood out. She demonstrated not only academic excellence but also the courage to speak up and defend ideas with purpose.

SACSA sincerely appreciates her effort and commitment. Her performance is a reminder that preparation, confidence, and determination lead to success.

We also use this opportunity to encourage female students across the department, college and the University of Liberia at large to take chances, step into academic spaces, and make their voices heard. Your participation matters, and your potential is limitless.

Yesterday, our students finally arrived at the famous Nimba Ecolodge, known for its fresh natural air, rich forest life, and peaceful environment. The moment they stepped in, the atmosphere changed; everything felt calm, refreshing, and full of learning opportunities. Surrounded by nature, the students explored, asked questions, and connected with the environment in a way that books alone can’t offer. It was a simple but inspiring moment.

Still in B**g and Nimba Counties. Day two begun with a rural tour.

SACSA visit to Gbedin Town was nothing short of amazing. The students were warmly received by the community, and from the moment we arrived, everything felt new, different, and deeply enriching. Every corner offered something to learn, every face carried a story, and every look revealed a part of rural life many had only heard about in class.

Students had the chance to use traditional rural tools, observe daily activities, and interact freely with residents. The conversations were genuine, the curiosity was high, and the learning was real. Gbedine opened our eyes to a way of life rooted in simplicity, resilience, and community strength.

We closed the first day of our field trip on a high note with a warm and memorable welcoming and acquaintance pool party. It was a beautiful moment that brought everyone together in a relaxed space after a long day of learning and exploration.

Students connected, shared experiences, and built new friendships that will carry throughout the trip and beyond. The atmosphere was full of laughter, good energy, and a spirit of unity.

As we move into the remaining days, the motivation is stronger, the team spirit is solid, and the excitement is still rising.

The Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology Student Association (SACSA-UL) has continued its three-day academic and cultural field trip with a meaningful engagement at the B**g County Prison Center.

Students held open interactions with inmates and correctional officers, gaining first-hand insight into the daily realities of correctional management, rehabilitation challenges, and the overall conditions within the facility. The engagement formed part of SACSA’s commitment to bridging classroom knowledge with practical field experiences.

As a way of giving back, the leadership of SACSA-UL made a significant donation of sanitory and basic materials to the prison center. The items presented are intended to support the wellbeing of inmates and strengthen the work of the correctional staff.

The Association extends appreciation to the administration of the B**g County Prison Center for the warm reception and for allowing students to learn directly from the field.

SACSA-UL remains committed to promoting academic growth, practical exposure, and community responsibility among its members as the field trip continues across B**g and Nimba Counties.
