YOPTI is a youth focused, local Non-Governmental Organization that seeks to positively transform the minds of young people thereby making them the positive change (s) they want to see in their communities. Our work focus on building the capacity of young people to realize self-potential and their roles in community development, advocating for the needs of young people, and promoting volunteerism.
YOPTI’s mission is to promote youth education and unification through an active medium of empowerment and motivation as guiding tools to self-discovery of talents and initiatives. The mission is further developed into the following objectives:
Design and implement programs of education, motivation, empowerment, unification and volunteerism
Regulate meetings, trainings, events, workshops and community awareness campaigns
Collaborate/partner with organizations with similar goals; exchange information and advice with them
Raise funds and receive aid where appropriate (political and illegal deals are inappropriate) to finance the work of the organization
YOPTI has an organized Board of Directors, Administrative Council and youth volunteers made of diversified professional individuals who are also committed to running its affairs and reaching youths in vulnerable communities to empower them through education. Since its establishment in 2013, YOPTI has - over the last five years - conducted training programs in building the capacity of youths for discovering self-potential to drive their own initiatives with respect to personal development and community advancement, promoted the involvement of youth as key partners to implement national development agenda and help sustain national peace by working across continuum of youths across Liberia. YOPTI became registered with the Government of Liberia in 2016 and it currently has its head office in Gbarnga City, B**g County R/L. Structure of YOPTI
YOPTI structure comprises of three components: Board of Directors, Administrative Council, and Volunteers. Board of Directors component is made of trusted and elected personalities charged with the responsibility to guide and appoint staffs in the Administrative Council. It receives reports from the Administrative Council regarding the day-to-day activities and confirms strategic and operational plans for YOPTI. Whereas the Administrative Council component is made of appointed staffs who administer the activities of YOPTI. The staffs include: Executive Director, Program Officer, Human Resource Officer, Communication Officer, Finance Officer, Procurement Officer, Public Relations Officer, Logistics Officer, Maintenance Officer, and Two Field Staffs. As for the Volunteers component, all other subscribed members of YOPTI fall in the structure-Volunteers; in this structure there is also an independent committee called Civil Committee that deals with all election matters except its own election.
