The Road Beyond the Global Week of Action

As we end the Global Week of Climate Action, Liberia is not stepping back; we are stepping forward. Our young climate justice advocates brought awareness directly to the people. face-to-face, heart-to-heart, in the streets of Monrovia.

The response was powerful: eager minds, curious questions, and unforgettable conversations. This is how transformation begins, and this is how we build a just future together.

In Liberia, our forests are life, they give us clean air, water, food, and protect us from the worst impacts of climate change. But deforestation is destroying them, often to make way for industries that harm our land and our people.
At the same time, climate finance is still flowing into these destructive activities instead of the real solutions we need.

It’s time to fix the finance. We must redirect funds to agroecology, clean energy, and community-led climate solutions that protect our forests, restore our land, and strengthen the livelihoods of farmers and forest communities. Protecting our environment is not only an environmental issue, it’s about securing our food, our future, and our peace.
