The law is the law.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) acknowledges and welcomes the ruling of the Civil Law Court, which has now definitively resolved the matter concerning the leadership of the institution after eight months of legal proceedings.
The ruling reaffirms the legitimacy of the leadership elected by the youth constituency of Liberia, with Mr. Duku Jallah continuing in his capacity as President of the Federation of Liberian Youth.
The Federation extends sincere appreciation to all young people, stakeholders, institutions, partners, and supporters who remained hopeful and committed to the principles of due process and peaceful resolution throughout this period.
President Jallah has also initiated outreach to former opponents and stakeholders in the spirit of reconciliation and unity, emphasizing that the future of Liberia’s youth must remain greater than individual interests or electoral contests.
As FLY enters a new chapter, the institution recognizes the urgent need for reform, renewal, and reconnection with ordinary young people across Liberia. The administration will prioritize restoring institutional credibility, rebuilding trust with young people and development partners, and repositioning FLY as a credible and effective platform for youth advocacy and development.
The administration has outlined key priority areas, including addressing youth unemployment, confronting the growing drug crisis affecting vulnerable young people, and expanding access to opportunities, exposure, and pathways for youth empowerment.
“The time has come for the national youth movement to move beyond division and focus on the real challenges confronting young people across Liberia. Our commitment is to build an institution that listens, responds, and delivers,” President Jallah stated.
The Federation further announces that the official inauguration of the leadership will take place on May 22, 2026, marking the beginning of a renewed effort to strengthen youth representation and engagement nationwide.
The Federation of Liberian Youth calls on all stakeholders, development partners, youth organizations, and young Liberians across the country to join this new effort in unity and shared purpose.
