Menleleh Incorporated in collaboration with the B**g County Health Team, Ministry of Health - Liberia and Gbarnga School Districts, Ministry of Education - Liberia celebrated World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025.
The celebration was held on May 28, 2025 at the St. Mark Lutheran High School campus in Gbarnga, B**g County under the global theme "Together for a ". The program was attended by health workers, school administrators, students, parents and representatives of civil society organizations.
The national themes for the celebration was "Period Friendly Schools and Communities for Togetherness".
The program included presentations by panelists from the B**g County Health Team and Gbarnga School District 1 followed by an interactive period of questions and answers. Key topics covered were Menstrual Hygiene Management and the Role of MoE and School Administrators in ensuring Menstrual Hygiene and Protection in Schools.
The program was attended by over 300 students, teachers and parents, most of whom were girls aged 12 to 20 years. 240 packs of sanitary pads and 193 sets of menstrual bead bracelets were distributed to the participants.
The celebration aimed to promote collective action to ensure that menstruation doesn't limit access to education, health or opportunities.
Thanks to all who contributed to making the program a success, including the leadership of St. Mark Lutheran Church, B**g County Health Team, Gbarnga Education Districts, ForumCiv Liberia, Embassy of Sweden in Monrovia and all schools that participated.
