Official statement from the class President at the graduation ceremony of Cohort One of our Trash to Treasure Program:
‎"Distinguished guests, respected facilitators, our own institution (YOPTI), headed by Mr. Genesis Sylvester Kolliemene and his progressive team, our proud families, and my fellow graduates. Today is more than a ceremony—it is a celebration of transformation. Not just of materials once discarded, but of minds renewed, skills sharpened, and purpose awakened.
‎
‎Standing here as the President of Cohort One of the Trash-To-Treasure Program, I am deeply honored to represent a group of individuals who dared to see possibilities where others saw waste. We came into this program with curiosity, and we leave with creativity, confidence, and commitment.
‎
‎This journey has taught us that value is not always obvious—it is discovered through vision, patience, and effort. We have learned to turn the overlooked into opportunity, the unwanted into beauty, and the discarded into something meaningful. But more importantly, we have learned that we, too, are capable of transformation, class of (RENEW). The class strongly calls for an Eco-Friendly Income Business Center/Enterprise for economic worth. The class targets a project to help all graduates start-up an Eco-Friendly Business Center individually that costs a little over: $1,200USD. It is our hope to not sit back in the community with the knowledge gained, we want to use this platform to kindly request from our invitees, sponsors, parents, and partners here to step in and be a help to us as we graduate today.
‎
‎To our mentors and organizers, thank you for believing in us, for guiding us, and for investing in our growth. Your dedication has not only equipped us with skills but has also inspired us to become change-makers in our communities.
‎
‎To my fellow graduates, this is only the beginning. Let us carry forward the lessons of sustainability, innovation, and responsibility. Let us be ambassadors of change—people who do not wait for a better world but actively create one.
‎
‎As Cohort One, we have set the foundation. It is now our responsibility to build upon it, to inspire others, and to prove that even the smallest ideas, when nurtured, can lead to powerful impact.
‎Today, we graduate not just as participants of a program, but as pioneers of a movement.
‎
‎Thank you, and congratulations to us all."
Congratulations to you, Mr President! 'Behind the scene' 🥰
