IS (a gio word meaning love for country) Life Organization (SLO) is a community based group founded in 2013 in Yekepa, Nimba County, Liberia and registered in 2017 in Monrovia, Liberia. It endeavors with the aid of community leaders to address observable, obstructive social, health and economic issues by finding a pertinent solution. Since its inception, it has focused on health awareness, education, small group farming and susu from members’ dues to needed members with little service fees of 7%-a micro loan scheme that started with 5 members in Yekepa and now has 75 memberships in Ganta.
Philosophy: SLO is being founded on the principle-strong society inhabitants must possess the ability to learn, practice knowledge, skills and aptitudes learned, work hard and smart, save and use resources and harvest or proceeds wisely and timely for the benefit of their country.
SLO Aims/Objectives: SLO serves to empower young people and community residents through skills trainings, education and undertaking of projects in soils and finance that will cultivate the sense of ownership to all Liberians.
