Dear friend and partners,
As we step into this New Year, we pause with deep gratitude for every friendship, every partnership, and every shared journey that brought us to this moment.

The year ahead is not a continuation of what was, it is the beginning of something greater. The journey has only just begun. The work before us is meaningful, demanding, and transformative, and the bridges we must cross and connect cannot be built alone. They depend on trust, collaboration, shared values, and the strength of our relationships.

This new season calls for unity of purpose, courage of conviction, and a renewed commitment to walking together, across differences, across borders, and across challenges. What we will achieve next will be shaped not only by vision, but by the partnerships and friendships that sustain the work.

Thank you for believing, for standing, and for building alongside us (COFGIRLS). May this year strengthen our bonds, expand our impact, and remind us that when we move together, no bridge is too wide and no path is too uncertain.

Here’s to new beginnings, deeper connections, and a future we shape, together.

Happy New Year.

Breaking News!!!!
👏 Congratulations to His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for his bold leadership at the United Nations, pledging a permanent ban on harmful cultural practices, including Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) in Liberia.
We also commend the launch of an $8.3 billion national agenda focused on gender equality, youth empowerment, and inclusive development.
At COFGIRLS, we stand ready to collaborate with government, civil society, and partners to turn these commitments into real progress for women, girls, and communities across Liberia. 🌍💜✊🏾

Thanks to everyone who supported us🙏🏾

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared and engaged with our Big Give campaign!

We raised £5309, which was 106% of our target. Without the support of donors and the general public, our work would not be possible.

Thank you to our amazing partners who trusted us with sharing their stories and journeys as activists in this space. We look forward to continuing to create change with you.

Your donations will help us to continue our essential work: providing capacity strengthening workshops and knowledge sharing spaces for grassroots organisations and activists, carrying out research to generate evidence and curate knowledge to better equip those working to end FGM/C and advocating to influence global and regional policies, actions and funding towards ending FGM/C.

Meet Jacqueline. She’s from Liberia and is the founder of Covenant Foundation for Girls (COFGIRLS).

COFGIRLS is a community based organisation, dedicated to empowering girls and young women to advocate against issues like FGM/C.

“I’ve experienced the dangers of FGM/C firsthand, narrowly escaping the procedure that claimed the lives of two childhood friends. This traumatic experience has fueled my commitment to activism.”

In 2018, Jacqueline met Orchid Project whilst participating in a training programme where she learned UNICEF’s 6 elements of advocacy, emphasising non-judgemental dialogue to foster change.

“This training transformed COFGIRL’s approach to addressing FGM/C. Between 2019 to 2021 we successfully mediated for 21 girls at risk of undergoing this practice. I credit this success to the insights gained from the training.”

We’re grateful for the generous support of donors and the public, allowing us to support women like Jacqueline, so that they can advocate for women and girls, helping to end this practice within their communities.

It is with great joy that we received our partner from UK who visited our office for two days then went in Gbehlay-geh district where she met with traditional leaders at the Karnplay city Hall. There a worthy dialogue was held, in the response to end harmful traditional practices (FGM/FGC)which are violations of human rights against(Women and Girls) after the fruitful and worthy dialogue, she was given a name (Wonser) by the traditional council. There she expressed her interest of working with us (COFGIRLS) and the traditional council as the struggle to end human rights violations continues.
