Widowsage was set up by the (MUSU. RAMSEY) following the events of august 11, 2010 . The final decades of the 20th and the first of the 21st Century have seen a proliferation of armed conflicts, ethnic cleansing and violent insurgency. The consequence of which is a high level of military and civilian casualties which have resulted in an unprecedented increase in the numbers of widows of all ages.
In several conflict-affected countries it is thought that over35% of all adult women are widows and 50% of children dependent on widowed mothers. WAG acts as the umbrella organization for the various, diverse widows associations and organizations within liberia, and alongside them; we help in the establishment
of county and regional networks to exchange information and “best practice” and to promote the status of widows. We explore all ways to highlight the roles / needs of widows in a particular country situation and to create awareness among governments, donors, NGOs and the international community. Widows age is an African based nonprofit organization BASE IN LIBERIA WEST AFRICA, fighting against inhuman treatment against African widows. We have been in the forefront of campaign for the welfare of African widows and their siblings. WAG is working to reduce the rate at which widows in Africa and their children suffer. Widows age Organization stands against oppression, victimization, intimidation and brutalization of African widows in the name of tradition and culture, helping them reclaim or recover possessions wrongfully taken away from them. We create platform for widows to speak out their hurts and plight, ensuring a better living for them.We also assist disadvantaged children. In pursuance of this we do not only intervened in the affairs that aggravate these untold sufferings and hardship but ensure that our intervention is unexpected, prompt and timely.
