The Management of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) wishes to inform the general public that it has come to its attention that some customers are being asked to pay money for utility poles, transformers, service wires, and other electrical materials during new connections, reconnections, or while receiving customer service support upon request.
Management categorically states that these materials and services are provided FREE OF CHARGE by the LEC within approved operational areas. No customer is required to make any payment to any employee for poles, transformers, service wires, or during the provision of customer service support.
Customers are strongly advised not to collect money to make any such payments to individuals claiming to represent LEC.
If any LEC employee or representative requests money for these materials or services, please immediately report the incident and provide the following details:
• LEC vehicle board number (if applicable)
• Full name(s) of the employee(s) involved
• Photos or videos (if safely obtainable)
• Date, time, and location of the incident
• Any other relevant information
